This item is a reward from the quest  [80] Not a Bug (Alliance) which begins with Thassarian aboard the Skybreaker in Icecrown or  [80] Not a Bug (Horde) which begins with Koltira Deathweaver aboard Orgrim's Hammer in Icecrown. To complete the quest, you must complete the following objective:

• Use the [Rod of Siphoning] to collect 5 [Dark Matters] from  Enslaved Minion to summon a  Dark Messenger.
