Gonna Go When The Volcano Blows is an end game raid achievement. Completing this achievement is criteria for the meta achievement  [Glory of the Raider (10 player)].

This achievement requires that the character participate in defeating  Sartharion the Onyx Guardian in 10-player mode without being affected by Lava Strike. Sartharion can be found in the Obsidian Sanctum.

Contrary to many expectations, Lava Strike is not the walls of fire that sweep from one side to the other. Instead, it is the meteors that fall pretty much at random.

Strategies Edit

The most notable strategy for this is to tag Sartharion, then die. The character's survival is not a requirement, only Sartharion's defeat (and the character's participation in it). Dying swiftly limits the number of meteors that have a chance of affecting the character.

It is possible to set your camera out to the maximum distance, allowing you to see the meteors rising from the lava and perhaps allowing you to anticipate where they are going to fall. A handy macro script for this is:

/script SetCVar (”cameraDistancemax” ,50)

Trivia Edit

The name is likely a reference to the Jimmy Buffet song Volcano.
