In the beta version, this weapon used to be classed as a one-handed weapon and could thus be used with a shield or off-hand item.
This is a wonderful choice of weapon for hunters who chose to use polearms or slow, two-handed weapons over daggers and swords because of the bonuses to agility and stamina.
