There are several examples of ground squirrels in World of Warcraft, classified as being prairie dogs, marmots, or gophers. They are closely related to squirrels, but are their own distinct group. Although lemmings are more closely related to rats and mice, they share the same model as the prairie dogs, marmots, and gophers.
