Gryphons are the standard rare flying mount for the Alliance. They come in a variety of colors, and are only usable in Outland and Northrend. The gryphons are capable of running on all fours like a cat for land travel, rendering it useful as a ground mount.
Players desiring to buy these mounts should turn to Brunn Flamebeard <Gryphon Keeper> at Wildhammer Stronghold in Shadowmoon Valley (you must be Level 60 to train the Expert (Flying Mount) Riding Skill and 70 to train Artisan (Flying Mount) Riding Skill). The expert mounts with a 60% on land and 150% in air increase will cost 225
for training and 50 for the mount, whereas the artisan mounts with a 100% land and 280% air increase will cost 5000 for training and 100 for the mount. Faction reputation discounts apply to the prices.

This Gryphon is a special vehicle flying mount purchased from "Honest" Max outside of K3 in Storm Peaks for free, so long as you are level 77 and have not purchased 
[Cold Weather Flying] and can only be used in Sholazar Basin, Storm Peaks, and Icecrown.
Artisan mounts
These mounts give a 280% speed increase in the air, and 100% on land.
