Charter

Our pledge to each other: We will not forget you. We will not forget where we came from, what we want to be, our where we want to go. We will not forget you, our guildmate, who has helped us in the past. You who have died a thousand times in the same instance, supplied us with that rare item, or helped us craft what we needed. We will not forget that we were even after obtaining 60 levels on one toon, completely lost on another. We will not forget that we all strive to be our best in the time allowed; and that our goal is to eventually be able to walk fearlessly wherever we please.

1) Transparency - We do not believe in secretive leadership. We all dislike grand pronouncements coming out of the friggin' blue, and we hate to make such pronouncements. There's no better way to show someone you don't give a rat's ass about their opinion than to not give them a voice at all.

Guild direction will be hashed out in a public forum that the entire guild can weigh in on. This doesn't mean we need everyone's agreement, but everyone should see discussion as it occurs. This will allow the guild leaders the ability to see how the guild feels about an issue and make an educated decision based on guild feedback and the actual goals of the guild.

The one exception to this would be for laying down the law on someone...praise in public, punish in private.

2) Focus - Clear goals for the guild will be apparent at all times, such as "we are aiming to start ZG runs in the next 3 months, with less than 5 pick-ups". This will allow everyone in the guild to focus on one goal whether it be in gearing up, making sure that the guild bank has recipes, mats, pots, etc. that can be used for that goal.

3) We will adhere to the guild guidelines. They may change over time to reflect the evolution of the guild, but we will do our best.

Guidelines

1. We play the game for fun and real life comes first. Those are our golden rules. No-one wants to quit mid instance, but sometimes it happens. Try to be graceful and take it in stride. It will be great when we all have 60's and can hit endgame by ourselves, but we're now here because we enjoy the camaraderie and like playing together. Being polite is a good thing. If you know you can only be there an hour for a two hour run, let the group know before you're on your way. They'll be able to try to find a replacement (I know, you're not really replacable) or find an instance that's more suitable for the time alotted.

2. We like each other. It's fun to kid around and give each other a hard time. Manifest jealousy, greed, aggressiveness, showboating, ninja-ness don't really suit us and will earn you the /gboot. Also remember that your actions reflect on the guild. Remember the Golden Rule and our golden rules and this should not be a problem.

3. We're adults here.. er, mostly. And we're mature here... er, we try to be. Funny is funny, and insulting is insulting. We want to self moderate and will each try to be considerate. This means we don't discriminate on race, religion, politics, sexual orientation (gay =! idiotic), pie vs. cake (although cake is better Wink), etc. If you are sensitive to "adult" references keep your profanity filter on. If you still have a problem, mention it in private first-give whoever a chance to behave. We're here to have fun… not see who can win the race to being the most uptight. No one wants to babysit, and no one wants the passive-aggressive/politically correct police jumping down their throats. If you can't figure out what we're talking about… this may not be the place for you.

4. We share. We're not trying prove out new economic theory, but do espouse more groupthink in managing our resources. You will provide services (not necessarily mats) to guildies for free. We're not talking about indentured servitude-Feel free to use AH and Trade Channel for selling stuff, but don't expect market pricing from guildies. And "WTS" should never been seen in /gchat. You are also expected to contribute to the LOONYBIN (guild bank). How much? Let your conscience be your guide. This game rewards coordinated behavior whether working together to slay a dragon or gathering mats to craft epic gear. If you wanna go it alone, this guild probably isn't for you.

5. Everyone in AqDem will roll at least one healing class character in guild and play them often. Why? Because we all have them and want everyone to feel our fricking pain! Priest, druid, pally, shaman (Burning Crusade Woot!)-take your pick. But we want everyone to understand and be able to provide primary healing for a group run (that means we won't be a guild of 20 level 10 healers Wink ). Here's why-- a. It gives you a different perspective and insight into how NOT to screw over your healer. b. It will be easier to get guild runs together (esp. after the tank corollary is introduced) c. You'll be constantly sought after and feel good about yourselves d. It will be more important in Burning Crusade If you already have an epic clad healer, please disregard and thank you for taking your medicine.

6. We will insist on your use of some mods. They will be listed elsewhere in the forum, but the starter list includes CT Raid Assist and Guild Event Manager.

7. We believe that shortcuts don't pay off. Don't look to powerlevel or have 60's drag you through the lower instances here. We'll work best together if we take the time to walk the long path to proficiency that WOW has so graciously provided.

8. At least try for good grammar and correct spelling. We understand if English is a second language, but then there's just lazy. We all get in a hurry--we've all written head scratchers and channeled Buckwheat*. Please TRY not to make it a habit.

9. World of Warcraft is a team game and we're team players. The core gameplay of WoW is the 5 man group. Working with your guildmates in 5 man play will help you learn to build trust, how each other plays, group dynamics with different classes and general camaraderie. So come on out and join the 5 man runs. We're definately going to shoot for the 10, 20, 25, and 40 raids, but the 5 man is an integral part of gameplay and participation is always welcomed.
