Summary and History

The Alliance Highguard's Tabard

The Alliance Highguard is a low to medium roleplaying Alliance guild on the Shadow Council server. As of July, 2006 it has approximately 187 characters, spread across about 98 active players, making it one of the largest guilds on the server. The guild was founded the day after the launching of the server, making it also the oldest guild on the server.

Alliance Highguard utilises Teamspeak for its raids and welcomes guests to join them.

Many guilds have merged with the Highguard over its lifetime, inluding The Fremen, Angelic Halo Clan, The Garrison of Thoras and Wealth of Nations.

The Alliance Highguard also houses several hosts of WoW Radio, including Duncor, Kae, Leto, Strixus and Gabriella from the general staff.

The Alliance Highguard of Shadow Council is not affiliated with other Alliance Highguard guilds, such as that found on Kel'Thuzad, nor is it affiliated with any Horde guilds on any server.

Style

The Highguard is dedicated to fostering a sense of "family"; guild members are compassionate for one another, and conflicts between members are very far and few between. This familiarity between members gives the guild a very comfortable, small-guild feel - something that is often very lacking in large, end-game guilds. The AHG prizes Honor, Courage, and Loyalty amongst its members and actions as well, working to provide a strong example for the rest of its faction on Shadow Council.

While not expressly dedicated to any particular facet of World of Warcraft game play, the guild hosts more PvE activities - particularly dungeon raids and non-instance boss raids - than it does PVP events. That said, members of the Highguard are frequently ranked among the top PVP players on the server, and the guild regularly forms battleground and town raiding groups.

Recent guild events have included:

  • Orchestrating occasional raids on Undercity and Silvermoon City.
  • Weekly raids on Karazhan between three teams.
  • A Secret-Santa and formal winter celebration, including a roast of the guild's leading players.
  • Participation in the "Book of the Ancients" and "Nozdormu's Chosen" RP lines.

The Alliace Highguard's tabard is dark blue, with a downward-pointing sword over a shield emblem. The trim is flat. Both the trim and the symbol are a deep golden color.

Public Relations

The Alliance Highguard is strongly principled, pursuing honor both in combat and in intra-Alliance affairs. The guild expects - and almost always recieves - the very best of conduct from its members.

Recruitment

Membership to the Highguard is somewhat selective, depending largely on the needs of the guild, especially for those interested in raid content. Those interested in joining the Alliance Highguard should contact Kerius or Seraphna through in-game communications and post an introduction in the Recruitment section of the Alliance Highguard website's recruitment page. Please note, while the guild enjoys a relaxed attitude, applicants are asked to commit to the guild for a period of at least a few months.

Discipline

Any players who have experienced abusive or inappropriate activity on the part of any member of the Alliance Highguard should immediately contact Dunnerbane or Seraphna through in-game communication.
