Mission Statment

"[Anthem's] primary purpose is to experience end-game content on a competitive level while maintaining the core values of patience, respect, reason, perseverance and humility."

General Information

Anthem is a PvE-Oriented guild on the Crushridge, US server. Founded during the last quarter of 2006 specifically for The Burning Crusade, the guild was established to serve as a place for experienced raiders to enjoy a more mature alternative to end-game content. After acquiring sufficient membership, the guild began raiding Karazhan during May, 2007 and has seen steady progress since that time. Anthem's raiding schedule includes weekends and some weekdays, starting at 7pm Pacific Time and lasting approximately 4 hours. Currently the guild boasts a full Karazhan clear (sans animal bosses) in approximately three and a half hours.

Recruiting Practices

General recruitment involves submission of basic demographic information on a web forum that is submitted to the guild officers. The responses are then manually posted by a designated guild member to the recruitment forums under the appropriate class category. This process helps to alleviate erroneous or otherwise "spammy" entries and also allows for a pre-screen by the officers for general viability. After initial review of the applicant's stats, talents, gear, gems selections and enchants, the guild members will respond to the applicant with suggestions or criticism for improvement. Designated guild officers may close the application if they find the player unsuitable or unwilling to make change, or if the applicant fails to respond to his/her post within a reasonable amount of time. Applicants are asked to join the guild, usually in a raid environment, for a test run and may be offered conditional trial status lasting up to two months.

Anthem places extra emphasis on age (they claim to have a median demographic of 25 years old), knowledge of class mechanics, punctuality and "comprehension of the English language".

Raid Loot Distribution System

Anthem has no DKP-related loot distribution system for either 10 or 25 man raid instances. In extremely rare circumstances, a loot council will make recommendations to players who may have a difficult time deciding whether to pass or roll on an item. The loot council will never master loot an item forcibly that is fairly rolled on. The guild has never had to call a session of the loot council, with no loot dispute ever occurring since its inception. The Master Looter method is always employed during raid runs so that green items can be distributed evenly amongst raid participants and to avoid both benign and intentional roll "mistakes".
