Basic information

The Blades of the Warsong are a World of Warcraft roleplay guild located on the EU Server - Scarshield Legion.

Guild Information

The Blades of the Warsong (aka The Blades) are the hidden eyes and ears of the Warchief. They are a prestigious service order for warrior brothers demonstrating the greatest loyalty to the Warchief. To be named to the Blades by Warchief Thrall is a great honour, and publicly acknowledged members serve openly in noble courts and diplomatic posts. Privately, many Blades members act as the Warchief's intelligence agency. Such agents conceal themselves with secret identities, operating in disguise as couriers, observers, spies, scouts and assassins throughout the horde.
Their primary role is to protect the Warchief from the more sinister forces at work within the world.

The Blades are NOT a militant institution, they have absolutely no connection with the army. They do however keep close relations with some of the Horde’s military organisations, mainly because some of their sensitive affairs require allies in high places. Although they are a secret organisation it is impossible to stop rumours of their deeds spreading through the public. Many know of their existence, but some still dismiss their existence as a conspiracy theory.

Why Warsong? (History)

When the Warsong clan washed up upon the coasts of Kalimdor during the third war, they quickly came to realise that they we far from the power that they use to be. Shattered and broken, this unfamiliar realisation was a huge blow to them and this quickly reduced their once iron morale to shreds. Of course something had to be done to build up the troop’s confidence again.
The Clan generals soon started raiding encampments of Centaurs and Thistle boars for quick wins to keep the Warsong force’s spirits together
This rash action and the surprising encounters with human refugees from Lorderon quickly won them dangerous enemies, thus the Blades of the Warsong were born.
The Order of the Blades was first founded by the legendary Warsong hero, Grom Hellscream, to watch over him outside the command tent during those uncertain nights in the foreign lands of Kalimdor. These bodyguards were slowly trusted with small tasks of spying on traitor suspects within the clan, and later on asked to assist with the ‘removal’ of these individuals. Soon the small fraction grew at a surprising rate and were assigned tasks that required a little more responsibility, sourcing information, diplomatic relations and in the end controlling the actions of the entire clan.
Even Grom realised what the Blades had become and once stated:
“I have fathered a monster, but nothing I can’t control.”
This unfortunately was not true, and he knew it. The Blades of the Warsong had become too powerful to be controlled. But luckily the head of the order, Thrakkar Swordsong, was utterly loyal and committed to the Warsong Warchief to plot any sort of rebellion.
When the clan invaded the forests of Ashenvale under Warchief Thall’s orders, it was the Blades complete ignorance towards the strange elven race that caused the massive blood shed that followed and when the Clan clashed with the Demi God Cenarious, the order was nearly completely wiped out. Under the influence of the felbood, the order was completely inactive and save from guarding certain areas of the Lumbercamp they became weak and almost forgotten.
After the death of Grom, Thrall learned of the existence of the blades and quickly recruited them into his personal payroll and the Order once again flourished. To this day they stay loyal to the horde and will defend Thrall’s heir way after he is gone.

What are their goals OCC?

To form a decent roleplay guild for the benefit of all the roleplayers on the Scarshield server. The more the merrier. We would like to form active relationships with the other RP guilds on the server and host/participate in numerous events, friendly or otherwise. Not all guild ideologies see eye to eye.

The goals of the Blades

1)To protect the Warchief.
2)To keep the enemies of the Warchief at bay, and always keep them out of arms length of Thrall.
3)To remove threats to the government, control rouge political parties and keep order in the government.
4)To combat organised crime and make sure the wrong people never become too powerful.
5)To aid other Political and Militant organisations in operations where they can.

Leaders

The Leader of the Blades of the Warsong is in reality Thrall. No one could really identify a member of the Blades unless a lengthy surveillance operation was under taken where EVERYONE who comes into contact with the warchief was investigated. Because all members have cover roles within the government and other organisations within Azeroth it would still be a difficult undertaking. There are, however, ways to contact the Blades should someone of worth wished it. Please see the forum for more information.
