Eight men living together in the Contubernium unit seems to be the smallest known, standard, unit of men in the Roman empire. We are the Contubernium.

History
Quote from contubernium's history book 9th Period: Conquest (12/15/2006) With it's power base reconsolidated and a dedicated member roster, the Contubernium began to look for new avenues to channel their team efforts and honor the Contubernium's name. Several of the most important guild members such as Podumas decided to investigate the hit phenomena World of Warcraft. Realizing that the world of Azeroth was ripe for conquest, they quickly established a base of operations and the WoW division of the Contubernium was born. Many new players with little or no affiliation with the original Contubernium joined the ranks of this new force, adding momentum to it's growth with every passing day. Existing communication systems (the web site) were modified to accommodate the new division and lure new recruits into furthering our glorious cause. As the WoW division gained strength, many Halo division veterans took notice and began to seek their fortune in Azeroth alongside the newly founded WoW division. Despite many internal reorganizations and a stifling loss of members in the WoW division, the Contubernium's presence in Azeroth continued to grow. This was thanks greatly in part to our new alliance with the armed forces of Project Mayhem. Never before has the future of the Contubernium seemed so prosperous.
