Guild:Corpus Veritas (Moon Guard US)

The Corpus Veritas, currently led by Father Noctus Invidius Mauvais (Or just Noctus) is the main branch of the Searing Eye, working to cleanse the evil demonic cult The Adeptus Peccalus.

General Guild Information

Corpus Veritas is a guild that is fully dedicated to wiping out demonic cults ( The Burning Blade, The Twilight's Hammer, etc). However, through all of these, Corpus is primarily devoted to destroying the Adeptus Peccalus, a demonic cult that has become incredibly prominent within the Alliance, based mainly in Stormwind City and Elwynn Forest.

Guild History: The Searing Eye

The Corpus Veritas is the main body of the Searing Eye Organization, a demon-hunting group orignally started by Noctus Invidius Mauvais, a Forsaken Priest who requested [[Thrall] to allow him to create a regiment especially devoted to the hunting down of the Demonic Cults who would cause insurrection in the Horde and endanger its safety. His memory of his past life intact yet lapsing, Noctus nearly forgot about a key cult that has been behind much of the world's miseries; the human-based cult called the Adeptus Peccalus. Until Noctus came into the Horde, little to nothing was known about this group of cultists, and their methods just as mysterious. The Order of the Searing Eye was created, small but still effective, counseled by Noctus Mauvais and officially led by a Sin'dorei named Dulanu.

After a few months of the Order prospering under Dulanu, he mysteriously disappeared after mentioning seeing his father. A replacement leader was established, but said leader proved to be ineffective as progress slackened. A certain faction in the guild was beginning to form as the Order began to split into two: Those who were loyal to Dulanu's selection of a leader, and a group of revolutionaries who wished to have Noctus placed where they believed he belonged: at the top position of leading the guild into its blaze of glory. After 2 weeks of dissension and feuding between the two in-guild factions, Noctus finally arose as the new leader of the Searing Eye, and those who remained with him afterwards would witness that there were going to be some drastic changes to their formerly small organization.

At the beginning of Noctus' reign as the new leader, he decided that it was time that the guild expanded further in order to achieve its goal. His original plan was to select capable leaders to begin satellite organizations (These organizations being: Wrath of the Searing Eye, The Searing Gaze, and the Dor'ano Dor) that functioned independently but still answered to him should the need arise. In order to govern all these organizations, a central, executive organization had to be made with Noctus' most trusted lieutenants. This central body became known as the Corpus Veritas, the "Body of Truth," where the true intent of the Searing Eye was centered. The Satellite organizations collapsed after a duration of time after losing contact with Noctus. Afterwards, the Corpus Veritas simply became the central Searing Eye, and those within the guild that had different functions would be kept under his watch and constantly in contact should something happen to them.

Shortly after the Corpus Veritas' founding, Noctus began to do some research and re-discovered the Adeptus Peccalus, a cult which had been essentially intertwined with his entire life. His family, the House Mauvais, were the kingpins in this kingdom-spanning cult, which had a great deal of influence in the Kirin Tor at the time, as well as the government of Stormwind as a whole. He found out about the fate of his siblings, still alive and functioning as the family continued to guide the Adeptus Peccalus, and worst of all, his Father, Sorken Mauvais (Known as Peccalus to the cultists, deifying him as "The Dark Demigod.") having a greater hold over the humans than ever thought before.
