What is Dennys Run Society?

Dennys Run Society (DRS) is a World of Warcraft Horde guild located on the normal CST realm Alleria.

History of DRS

It started as representation of a close network of friends who enjoyed the social aspect of going to Denny's restaurants at late hours of the night when no other place was open to serve after hour refreshments. The philosophy of DRS has grown to incorporate any place a group of friends can spend a few hours together catching up with the day's events and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere with one another. Typically, a Denny's Run involves at least three people going out to one of these restaurants and calling more friends over until a giant collaboration of friends are seated at a booth, harassing each other.

Many decisions for the guild Dennys Run Society have been hashed out with a cup of coffee served by the best Denny's waitress named Millie while a pen and paper sketchily represented the evenings discussions. For as long as people continue to pull out their phones and head to Denny's with a phone call to a friend to say, Dude, I'm going to Denny's, you know you want a cup of coffee, there will always be Dennys Run Society.

Guild Structure

The highest rank in DRS is the Guild Leader's position of Pwner.

DRS's Guild Leader is Accension, level 70 Troll Priest.

The Officer's ranks are District Managers and Managers.

The DRS Officers

Class Leaders

A few class leaders are also officers in the guild, class leaders are picked for their knowledge of their particular class and are granted to those who play the class as their main character.

Ranks

Starting from the rank beneath the officers down to the lowest rank, a member of DRS can be any of these dependent on their loyalty and time within the guild -- Host, Cook, Wait Staff, Bus Person, Dishwasher, and Unruly Customer. In truth, no rank has any true importance save the officers' ranks. The system of ranks were made entirely to inspire playful harassment of others in guild chat when a member was promoted to a different rank. Ranks only exist for comic relief.

Guild Conquest?

For a while, the guild was seen as a minor addition to the Horde on Alleria, but DRS has provided events for the realm since its creation on June 24, 2005. When the PVP system was first introduced to the server, the guild leader decided it was time to let the server know her guild. At that time, staying capped at level 30 for two weeks, all she did was attack Warsong Gulch.

After two weeks of fighting next to the server's most well known Horde, she made an appearance on the Alleria Realm Forums. It was not long after that the Alliance would chase her around Warsong Gulch and she used the tactic of being the bait to keep Alliance busy while her team scored.

Shortly after growing tired of the battlegrounds, she quickly reached the level cap of 60 and began recruitment. Horde and Alliance had no true casual guild on the server until she presented one. While actively recruiting, she created a structure for the guild around her own moral principles.

  • 1. No drama.
  • 2. Treat everyone with respect and friendliness.
  • 3. Real Life is important.
  • 4. Guild comes first, non-guilded come second.

Goals of DRS

Before the Burning Crusade released, DRS was proud of its casual laid back structure on Alleria. We, as a guild, vigorously attacked the casual content Blizzard offered us as we awaited the expansion. Several guild members achieved the acquisition of their Dungeon Set 2 pieces through the completion of the quest line which had individuals run through the level 55+ five and ten man dungeons.

The guild ran these dungeons so often, their precision in knowing how to avoid pulls increased their speed through the dungeons without needing excessive gear. When the timed run through Stratholme was introduced into the game, DRS attacked it without reluctance. Few guilds can claim to offer the same attention to casual questing as DRS with the same friendliness and camaraderie.

At current, DRS is pushing through the content of the Burning Crusade with ease to collect their Dungeon Set 3.

Recruitment Advice

As a whole, the guild works with each other and their desired talent specs. The guild does not force any particular spec on any specific class but it does have assigned tanks and healers.

Main Healers

Main Tanks

The guild is always open to new recruits seeking a comfortable home, they can apply here if they are interested. However, please remember, this guild prefers quality over quantity.

UPDATE: May 29, 2007

At current DRS is seeking out an active main priest or paladin willing to become a main healer in the guild for Karazhan, heroic dungeons, and other raiding content in the future. This priest will work along side with the guild leader and other healers in discovering the guild's strategy for healing their team. A main character is desired and not an alt, dedication will be needed for this character and loyalty to the guild will be a must.
