We have started an effort together, a bunch of friends trying to achieve goals that a MMORPG like World of Warcraft sets, through a brotherhood that we call Deorum Animae, an Alliance guild on the EU Silvermoon server, since March 7, 2005. We have grown bigger in levels and numbers since that day, to date we have 200 players on 94 accounts, but we have managed to retain the form of our guild as primarily as a Guild of friends.
The point of the Guild's existence is for everyone to have a good time. The Guild's reason of being, is first to enhance this feeling and secondly to leave a distinct mark in the game from the beginning until its end-game challenges.
We are an end game raiding guild, so our main focus is just that, although we often times organize events outside the usual raiding Guild routine, such as Duelling Tournaments, Contests etc. We're a guild that will share things even if these are "rare" or "epic" items, we use dkp for cross class items, and we have a rotation for class item tokens. We very rarely go to Karazhan so should you wish to join us it would be wise to have all you need from there and have your gear fully enchanted. Please do note that with us being a raiding guild, people usually have little time to no time to help level mains or alts up to level 80 and this is why our recruitment focuses on raiding-able players.
We are able to play as a team in small scale warfare (Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Eye of the Storm) and try to enjoy the odd groupings in Alterac Valley as often as we can, although this is not in our every-day activity since our main focus in on PvE.
Ragnaros has been defeated, Hakkar is long now dead, Nefarian bows before the might of our Great Guild and Prophet Skeram, Battleguard Sartura and Fankriss the Unyielding have been slain in Ahn'Qiraj. Our next mission, to stand against all evils in Outland and Azeroth and defend our lands against the Scourge. Karazhan is cleansed, Gruul is no longer a threat and Magtheridon has been dead for a long time. Serpentshire Cavern's Queen, Lady Vashj and Kael, the lord of The Eye died by our hands, and Illidan the Betrayer can hurt noone anymore. Now, we're after the one that started it all...Arthas! We're fighting in the hostile continent of Northrend, taking down the Lich King's lieutennants one by one, trying to flash out Arthas himself. His bastion in Naxxramas is now freed from evil and the flying menace citadel is no more.
We are the few, the elites that always look out for one another and evolve in-game through teamwork and team spirit. We evolve as a guild and we thrive as a guild, and not as individuals. However this does stop when it comes to heroic instances and quests and remains purley optional for people to group together to do these, and as such the officers and class leaders dont get involved in this aspect of the game. If you want something like this, you have correctly chosen to be in our ranks. If you don't, then by all means find what expresses you more in the game and follow it.
We have purposely retained the guild versatile and friendly. I never realised how fulfilling an in-game friendship can be. I have seen that after sharing moments with the most of the guild mates separately or as a group that it has become a strong bond and something that I am looking forward to every time I log in to play. Even if we never meet in person, I believe that we have made some true and good friends.
In order for you to join us you have to possess the following EPIC qualities:
1) Be polite, courteous and respectful to your guild mates and allies in the game, even to strangers who may come to you for whatever reason.
2) Respect your enemies without resorting to extremities in behaviour and emote contact.
The reason that we demand these qualities is that we feel they form a solid basis for Deorum Animae to build a good name on our choosen realm. These principles are not negotiable.
We don't expect you to be a hardcore player, staying online all the time, but we do expect you to participate in our events as often as you can. We expect you to try to group with our members so you can create the same bond that we have with each other.
Our recruitment process is quite simple:
Fill out the appropriate application as explained by our recruitment officer Harras / Twinlight. If your application is approved you will then become a recruit in our Guild, and remain so for a period of time during which we will be able to get to know each other better. Do note here that during this short time, full Deorum Animae members will have priority in loot matters over you (we need to be perfectly clear on that). You will group with guild mates around your level and if all goes well, you will receive the first guild rank which is the rank of the Citizen. From that point on, you will be eligible for all the benefits that Deorum Animae has to offer to its guild members. These benefits will only be revealed to you in-game. We do not wish for them to be the main reason you become a member of Deorum Animae. It is our approach to the game that we want you to share with us. We value people over playing ability.
