About Distant Beliefs

We define our guild as a semi-hardcore raiding guild. We raid 4 times a week, but we do not require attendance. We are focused on progression, not loot. We value real life and see it as a higher priority than World of Warcraft. We do not tolerate drama, we are in this game for fun (why else are we paying Blizzard 15 bucks a month?). We count on our players to be committed to the guild, loyal to guild, and when they are raiding give it their best. We have guild-funded 50 person ventrillo server through DarkStar, LLC, and we have a guild-funded website at DKPSystem.com. Our members are a member from day one -- there is no trial period and you can start earning DKP your very first raid. We value teamwork and respect of our fellow guild mates. We help each other to be the best we can be. And we really raid.

Weekly raid schedule

Please note, invites for raids are issued 30 minutes in advance to raid start times. We have started our summer raiding schedule with shorter raid times to account for additional RL time. The following is our current schedule until Fall.

Recruitment

We are currently recruiting players dedicated to raiding and that want to put in the time it takes to achieve our progression goals. If our raid times fit your schedule, and if you have T4+ gear, please app by filling out an online application at Distant Beliefs Apply Online Application. That said, currently we are specifically recruiting the following classes/specs:

  • Holy Paladin (2)
  • Shaman (All Specs)
  • Mages
  • Rogue (2)

DKP Looting Policy

1. INDICATING INTEREST IN AN ITEM. If you are a MAIN and are interested in a MAIN SPEC ITEM that drops, you should whisper the DKP master for the raid !dkp when the DKP master indicates (not before). That will automatically send a request to the DKP master as well as report your number of DKP.

2. BIDDING. Once the DKP Master has received a list of interested members, the members will be placed in order from lowest DKP to highest. Starting from the lowest, the DKP Master will call upon the member to place their ONE bid on the item. The minimum bid is 10 DKP. Once the bid is received, the DKP master will indicate what the current bid is, and will move to the member with the next highest DKP, who will place their bid, which must be at least 1 DKP more than the previous bid. This continues until the member with the most DKP has a chance to bid.

3. ALT AND OFF-SPEC FREE-ROLL. If no mains want the on spec item for DKP, then alts and off spec members are free to free-roll bid on the item. When the DKP Master indicates to roll on the item, type /roll to roll on the item. NOTE: No main/on spec players can roll at this stage, only alts and main off specs.

4. UNWANTED ITEMS. If an item is passed on in both DKP and free roll, the officers will decide what to do with the item, but most likely it will be disenchanted and the shard will be placed in the guild bank.

5. BOP PATTERNS. Patterns that are BOP (and create BOE items) will be auto-looted to the guild crafters. These crafters have been carefully selected as those that have proven loyalty to the guild and we have confidence will be with us for the long haul.

   * Leatherworking: Lextar, Deressy
   * Tailoring: Ellasaria, Crackshotjr, Dollah
   * Blacksmithing: Garrick
   * Jewelcrafting: TBA

6. BOE PATTERNS. Patterns that are BOE (and create BOP items) will be auto-looted to the guild bank. Items will then be auctioned off for DKP on the forums and looted to the highest bidder.

DKP Award Policy

1. ON-TIME & SIGN UP BONUS. All players on their signed up character in raid 15 minutes prior to raid start time will be awarded 5 DKP. This only applies to players that have signed up on the website for the given raid.

2. RAID DKP. Players will be awarded DKP based on the amount of time they raid. DKP will be awarded at a rate of 5 DKP per hour. Raid snapshots will be taken at the top of every hour starting one hour into raid. Players will then be awarded DKP based on the number of snapshots they were present for.

3. LEAVING EARLY. Players must notify there class leader PRIOR to raid start time if they are leaving early. If they fail to notify their class leader ahead of time they will receive ZERO DKP for that night's raid. Emergencies happen, and if that is the case, they should be appealed officially on the website.

4. DOUBLE DKP FOR NEW BOSS FIGHTS. When we are working on a boss that we are still learning (defined as a boss we have never killed or have only killed once), the rate at which DKP will be awarded is doubled to 10 DKP per hour.

5. IRON MAN BONUS. People leaving raid early disrupt the raid and ruin a raid's momentum. To help reward those that stay in a raid from start to finish, 5 DKP will be awarded to all players that participated in the raid from start to finish.

6. GUILD MEETINGS. Guild members on vent and in the meeting channel by the meeting start time will be awarded 5 DKP. A screenshot will be taken at the start of the meeting, and players on vent will be awarded DKP. Players should make certain their name appears in vent as their main character and if you have someone else sharing vent with you, they are also listed in your vent comment.

7. WAIT LIST. Players that would like to raid but did not get into the raid can still earn DKP for the raid by following these steps:

  1. You must whisper the DKP tracker with !waitlist. You will get a response back indicating that you are on the wait list.
  2. You must be on ventrillo with the sound turned on and ready to respond immediately if needed.
  3. You character must be parked outside the raid ready to come in. Note that you can switch to an alt as long as that alt is in the guild so you can respond to guild messages.
  4. You will only be given credit while you are on and ready to come into the raid.
