HistoryEdit

Ebon Phoenix was officially launched on 21st June 2009, founded by several former members of another social guild on the server, Paradox.

From the start of September until mid-October 2009, Ebon Phoenix participated in a collaboration with Venatus Una, another PvE guild on our server. Working together, the two guilds successfully cleared the 25-man version of Naxxramas and made progress into 25-man Ulduar. This collaboration has since ended.

During Wrath of the Lich king, Ebon Phoenix continued to take part in primarily 10 man end game content up too and including the Lich King and all bosses prior.

Since the start of Cataclysm, Ebon Phoenix have been clearing through the end game content and have successfully killed Nefarian, Cho'Gall and Al'Akir on ten man, earning the Dark Phoenix mounts.

With the launch of patch 4.2, Ebon Phoenix have been working on the Firelands 10.

RecruitmentEdit

Recruitment in Ebon Phoenix is done via application assessment on our guild forum: [1]

Before applying, please read our article about how to apply. Along with our guild rules: [2]

Applicants must post their application in the Recruitment section of our forum. In order to post an application, applicants must first create their own forum account; please use your main character’s name as your forum username and not another alias.

All applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Previous connections to the guild, such as a friend or family member are highly desirable, but exceptions can be made for impressive applications.

We do not consider level, class, talent spec, equipment, experience, or connection speed to be criteria within our recruitment process; we place a far higher value on a player's personality than their gearscore. The only thing we require of our members is an understanding of conversational English, in order to facilitate guild communications.

RaidingEdit

Ebon Phoenix typically try to ensure that the main characters face the progress content first, before opening it up to alts as the content is mastered. Our raiding environment is a relatively free one, the only requirement being the ability to fight the content correctly with suitable gear and skill. The guild are understanding of mistakes and try to avoid penalising players for them, but at the same time acknowledge that players should only sign up for raid content when they are ready to face it, to prevent players having to carry others.

Our loot is distributed via the /roll system. And our raid positions typically determined by first come-first serve.

So far Ebon Phoenix have been working on 10-man (normal) content raids. We also run occasional 'nostalgia' raids for both vanilla and Burning Crusade content.

Raiders are required to have access to Team Speak 3 for voice communication during raids. Our server details can be found in the guild information tab in-game.
