The Fellowship of Azeroth
The Fellowship of Azeroth was formed to create just that – a Fellowship of loyal friends ready to fight alongside and for each other. We get away from the ugly side of Azeroth by surrounding ourselves with great, fun, respectful and mature people. The Fellowship works to expand, while holding together our tight-knit, family feeling community. We work for you by working for us, Alexis de Toqueville’s theory of enlightened self interest states that everyone will serve their self interest by improving the whole, in realizing that they individually create the whole. We’re here to make friends, have fun and advance in the world of Azeroth. Guild InformationGuild Founded: December 2, 2004 Guild HistoryThe Fellowship of Azeroth was founded under the leadership of Skye on December 2nd of 2004. Several players recruited in those initial weeks and months would play key roles in the growth and success of the guild in the years ahead. The early days of the Fellowship were mostly focused on leveling, running instances, and helping fellow members. As a casual guild, raiding was given little attention, outside of the occasional invites by friends from outside of the guild. In the latter months of 2005, a call to raiding grew amongst the membership. With members leaving and the threat of more, a transition took place in the direction of the guild. On September 17th, Skye stepped down as Guild Master, passing the mantle onto Filetofish. During this time the Fellowship had begun developing a working relationship with the guild Death with Honor, and before long Fellowship members were being invited along as guests to raids into Molten Core and Zul'Gurub. On October 14th, a merger with the guild TermiNatrix was attempted to bolster the Fellowship's numbers. Ultimately, the guilds' personalities proved to be too different, and on October 29th the two guilds seperated. Not to be dissuaded, an alliance with the guild Serenity was formed, to solidify what would become the Fellowship's first raiding group. On January 7th of 2006, the Fellowship made their first excursion into Molten Core as a social raiding guild. Onyxia's Lair and Zul'Gurub would soon follow. In the early months of 2006, the Fellowship swelled its ranks, taking on members from the guilds Defiant, Vires quod Veneratio, and later on, Knights of Grey. Many of the members of Vires quod Veneratio would later join Garrettes Privateers, the Fellowship's sister guild. Founded by former Fellowship officer Aurora, Garrettes Privateers would soon start to play a growing role in the Fellowship's raids. These additions would help push the Fellowship to the next level, propelling their progress in both 20 and 40-man raid content. As the weather warmed, raid bosses began to fall. The guild quickly moved on to the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj and Blackwing Lair. In August Serenity broke off the alliance, wanting to focus on building more of a family atmosphere within their guild. Soon after the raiding core of Serenity left their guild and were brought into the ranks of the Fellowship. Within a few months Nefarian would fall and the guild would push into the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. By the end of 2006 forays were being made into Naxxramas, exploring its opening areas. January saw the release of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, and like many of the raiding guilds across the globe, the transition from 20 and 40-man raid groups to 10 and 25-man groups was not an easy one. Relations between the membership became strained, but the bonds that had formed over the previous two years proved strong enough to hold the guild together. As spring turned to summer, the guild rallied, making significant headway in Karazhan. It wasn't long before Gruul's Lair followed. With Karazhan and Gruul's Lair behind them, the Fellowship set it sights on Magtheridon and the first two major raid instances of The Burning Crusade, Serpentshrine Cavern and the Eye (Tempest Keep). While Magtheridon fell, the encounter proved not to be worth the level of effort needed to drop him, as his death was no longer required to gain entrance into the Eye. The farming of Void Reaver in the Eye proved to be a much easier, more worthwhile venture. Unfortunately, these successes were not followed by progress within Serpentshrine Cavern. By September, raid progression had stalled. It was time for a change, and the Fellowship took another step in its now two year long evolution as a raiding guild. A guild restructuring dropped any "social" or "casual" tags that the guild still carried. Refocused, the Fellowship pushed forward, and within two months they had cleared a majority of Serpentshrine Cavern and the Eye. It was also during this time that a second raiding team, known as "Gruul 2", started seeing their own success. This team, in coordination with Garrettes Privateers, took over the raiding of Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon. With the new year came continued success. The new 10-man raid instance, Zul'Aman, fell quickly, and the Gruul 2 team, now known simply as "G2", brought down the World Bosses Doom Lord Kazzak and Doomwalker. The first two months of 2008 also saw the Fellowship's first kills of Lady Vashj and Kael'thas Sunstrider, opening the door to the Battle of Mount Hyjal. Quick success came in this Caverns of Time raid instance, paving the way to Illidan and the Black Temple, with the Sunwell shining bright on the horizon. And so the Fellowship continues its march into the furthest reaches of Azeroth and the Outland... Guild Milestones12/02/2004: The Fellowship of Azeroth is founded
