A history from inside and out of Forgotten Legacy

The Early Days
Forgotten Legacy was formed on release day, November 23, 2004 on the Hellscream server as an Alliance guild. Founded by players from EQ that had played together, FL had the endgame in mind from the start. The founding Guild Master was the warrior Candari. Many of the initial guild members had played in Beta together. The guild members leveled at an average pace with most reaching level 60 around the late December to early January area. As they worked on gear to take on Molten Core, many nightly UBRS runs were held in efforts to get the best gear available at the time.
Raiding Begins
First coming into force to hold weekly raids in late January 2005, FL began their assault on Molten Core. In late Feb 2005 they were able to down Lucifron. Early March 2005 added some reinforcements in the FL lineup, including two officers and several members from the recently disbanded Brainstorm guild. Splitting time on Onyxia and Ragnaros, FL moved on in efforts to win. Early April 2005 brought a Onyxia kill nearly simultaneous with the Horde guild Immortalis. Then in May 2005, FL proved better than Ragnaros, the fire lord and brought him down, the first on Hellscream.
Blackwing Time
As FL waited for Blackwing Lair to be released they continued to gear up. Blizzard’s terribly slow release of new content lead to a great stagnation in the guild. Many long term members slowed their pace of play and the once stable member pool that FL enjoyed began to break some. Things took a turn for the worse when the Guild Master Candari took a several week break. Stepping into the role of GM was Elderan a veteran officer. When BWL was released FL pushed on through a slow period, downing Razorgore early, but not soon enough to end a stream of players from leaving the game and the guild. A month or so into Candari’s break from the game, Elderan the acting GM left the game himself, leaving the officers including Astrid, Keech, Fulbert and Rhagz to continue on. Shortly after the departure of Elderan, Candari returned and took the position of GM once again. Though there was a dark time, FL moved along and took the lead on the server first kill of Nefarian. Along the way they completed the first Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker sword on the server causing quite a spectacle and crowd for the first spawning of Thunderaan.
Trouble Ahead
With the pending release of Ahn'Qiraj, FL once again found itself longing for new content. Fresh of having their way with the green dragon spawns for over a month alone, FL prepared for the AQ farming stocking up on cloth and other high need items. As the AQ war effort began, FL sponsored a turn-in contest. The winner for the most overall item stacks got a BWL run in which they can choose any one loot they wanted, and every stack of items turned in were worth raffle tickets for a chance at a MC run for up to 5 people where they could loot anything they wanted. The winner of the BWL run won a Essence Gatherer wand. As AQ opened FL progressed yet the shakeup before AQ never was settled. As a rough spot set in, learning mode grew difficult, a group from within FL left for the other top alliance raid guild on the server, Keepers of the Faith. Morale took a dive, but FL once again pushed on. Times would not remain good for long though.
Server Transfer and Goodbye
In early April 2006, Candari the long standing Guild Master announced he would be leaving the game. Another warrior, Fulbert, would take over and together with the officers the guild would carry on. It was enough of a blow to lose a respected leader and friend to many, but shortly after this the first PVE to PVP server transfers were announced and Hellscream was one of the three servers offering transfers. A debate raged for a very tense weekend as factions within the guild argued for and against the transfer. In the end, it was split nearly 50/50, with some staying and some leaving. The decision was made late the night before the transfers were to start that the guild would mostly transfer, including the GM and all officers.
After setting sail for Dalvengyr, FL began the process of rebuilding. Many long standing members took the weeks after the transfer hard and sought time away from the game. Some were not to return, while others did.
Current
Today, Forgotten Legacy resides on the PvP realm Dalvengyr, and continues to raid, looking forward to new content to master. On April 24th 2007 several original founding members of Forgotten Legacy left Dalvengyr and settled on the PvP realm Frostmane after original Guild Master the warrior Candari decided to take up arms once again and lead the new guild by the name of Paradigm. Today Paradigm and Forgotten Legacy both share a mutual respect for one another as many of them still remain good friends. The are still concentrating predominantly on PvE content and remain top end raiding guilds on their respective servers.
