This article is a guild information page

The contents herein are entirely player made and in no way represent official World of Warcraft history or occurrences which are accurate for all realms. The characters and events listed are of an independent nature and applied for roleplaying, fictional, speculative, or opinions from a limited playerbase only. Guild pages must comply with the guild page policy.

Lightning is a casual guild of mature players who have a life outside Warcraft but like to play as much as possible and cooperate to experience all the WoW content, from 5-man to world raids. The guild runs/raids start at 10pm ST (or GMT-1). We live in Kilrogg - European server. Come and say hi to us! Come and raid with us if you are a night player.

Overview

This guild was formed on Kilrogg-EU, with experienced players joining with new characters and waiting for the Payable Character Transfer to open, allowing for later transfer of their main character... Since Kilrogg was a new server... the PCT only opened after 6 months, and our new characters became our mains :-).

Lightning is dedicated towards end-game instances (raids), but we also have players that dont like to raid. No one is forced to spec for raiding or attend raids.

Guild Rules

  • This is NOT a hardcore raiding guild as such every person is free to join the runs they want, when they want.
  • We use a Suicide Kings Loot system with frozen position.

As members of LIGHTNING you represent our guild through behaviour and chat. We strive to build up a good reputation as a friendly and mature guild. Maturity is not a question of age, but rather of behaviour - the key principle being to not cause offense through words or deeds.

We will endeavour to:

- Be helpful and supportive to other players to help them obtain greater skill and mastery of the game and convey a positive gaming culture

- Share resources as much as possible within the guild and have a Fun > Need > Greed attitude.

- Have good relations with other players and guilds

(Behaviours detrimental to our aims as a guild include: ninjaing, bad-mouthing, camp stealing, corpse camping, training mobs towards others, or spamming of chat channels, etc.)

- We will also not tolerate activities detrimental to the game as it's meant to be played, such as gold buying, and it goes without saying that we won't tolerate guildmembers using exploits, hacks etc.

  • General attitude towards gaming

We want to try and be a relaxed guild. ‘Working’- or ‘Family’- Life can be stressful enough for most of us, so we don’t want to extend this to our leisure time. Being adults with other commitments there should be no requirement to attend any particular guild event (raid or other). Someone saying they cannot attend, whether they are the only healer/tank online or not should be enough. Also, we will aim to be relaxed about raid loot. We will not use a DPK system. Five-man and 10-man runs use a simple need before greed system. Larger raids use Suicide Kings. Every guildmember should have the chance to attend a raid and be excited about the possibility of getting an epic drop on a run, regardless if their time allows daily playing or only once a week.
