The goal and purpose of the Order of the Golden Law is to stand against the forces of greater evil that threaten the existence of life as we know it, from the Scourge, the Burning Legion and the Twilight's Hammer, to lesser organizations of evil such as cults, chaotic-evil guilds, and mortal forces bent on destroying or enslaving mankind. It is our duty to stand in defiance of all of these, not as individuals, but as a body which is united under one banner in the name of the Light (or in the name of Good in general). Individuals who do not necessarily follow the Light - Druids, Shamans, and Mages - can still join the Order if their goal is aligned with the Orders. While they do not need to believe that the Light is their overall higher-power, they are expected to adhere to, and dedicate their lives to follow the teachings of the Three Virtues and the tenets of the "Followers Code".

The Order of the Golden Law is a level 25, active, heavy role-play guild. Minimum level requirement is level 15 (so we know you at least have intentions to play them). Experienced, mature, and veteran role-players are preferred, with a general understanding of basic Lore, and a decent skill in spelling, punctuation, and over-all grammar. All members are expected to have either an MRP (MyRolePlay) or a TRP (TotalRolePlay), and are recommended to have GHI (GryphonHeartItems) to optimize their role-play capabilities and personal experiences with the guild. Ventrilo or Skype is heavily recommended for In-Character events and for an Out-of-Character voice interview.
The Order of the Golden Law is, first and foremost, a Holy Military Order. What's a "Holy Military Order"? The Knights of the Silver Hand, the Argent Dawn, and the Argent Crusade are all Holy Military Orders.
Uniforms are enforced ICly and are expected to be worn. OOCly, you're free to wear what you wish! In-Character vows of sobriety (not drinking alcohol) and celibacy (not engaging in sexual orientations until after IC marriage) are also enforced!
The Order of the Golden Law is founded by Jonathan Kalery, Paladin of the Order of the Silver Hand, Paladin of the Argent Dawn (and later, the Argent Crusade), and seasoned veteran of every war post First War. Being led by a Paladin, true to the Light, the Order was built around the very same virtues that the Order of the Silver Hand and Church of Holy Light modeled after - Respect, tenacity and compassion. When the Order was founded, they sought and gained the support of the Argent Crusade and a handful of remaining Knights of the Silver Hand. While their supporters offered no resources, they did offer their faith and guidance. With this guidance, and with the faith of their allies, the Order was able to grow both spiritually and literally.
Months after their founding, the Order of the Golden Law was several hundred strong, comprised of true-hearted men and women in service to the Holy Light and to the people.
Now, the Order is looked up to by many as true friends and strong allies willing to put their lives at risk to defend Azeroth and her people against evil. The banner of the Golden Law is recognized amongst their allies as a symbol of peace, hope, justice, and unity, and the men and women who carry that banner are the very embodiment of these tenets.
Recently, as the Highlord of the Golden Law has gone missing, Ennalor Silvertongue has stepped up as Lord Protector of the Order, standing to lead both the Order and its allies against new threats, such as the cultist Victor Marrow and his followers.
Any seeking to join the Order are called to lose much of their old life, including: titles of power, pride, disrespect, dishonesty, and hedonism. Giving up their titles of power (such as the title of a Noble), each member will accept the mantle of a commoner and the humility that comes with it. Giving up their pride, each member must learn to show compassion even to those who show them disrespect or do them a wrong. The demands the Order of the Golden Law have for those who carry its banner are heavy, but this only proves the discipline of the members that comprise it.

Guild Rules & RecruitmentEdit
Guild rules and protocols can be found on the website, along with additional information regarding recruitment.
The Golden Law welcomes all races and classes with the exception of Warlocks, Death Knights and other shadow aligned lore classes. Roleplaying add-ons such as MRP (MyRolePlay) or a TRP (TotalRolePlay) are recommended, along with GHI (GryphonHeartItems), to optimize their role-play capabilities and personal experiences with the guild.
Firstly, anyone seeking to join the Order of the Golden Law must undergo an Out-of-Character interview in Ventrilo. The Out-of-Character portion of the interview allows us, as the recruiters, to know the quality of who we are bringing into the guild and to determine whether a character is truly fit for the guild - but also so that the recruit can decide for themselves if they feel the Golden Law -is- the best guild for them.
The questions asked during the Out-of-Character interview can also be found on the on the left hand side 'Quick Links' item titled Recruitment/About.
Secondly, after passing the Out-of-Character interview with an Order of the Golden Law recruiter, each individual is asked to spend two weeks (on average) with the guild through RP, OOC interaction, activity on the website and in Ventrilo so that the recruit can get a real feel for what its like to be a part of the Order.
These two weeks allow the recruiter, and other guild members, to experience the roleplay skills of the recruit. Grammar, punctuation and writing experience are observed, as well as how the player interacts not just with guild members, but with out of guild members.
During the first week out of Guild - recruits are asked, to /join a guild recruitment channel, and to place 'Trial of the Golden Law' in the title bar of their Roleplay Profile in game. During the second week - they are welcomed into the guild out of character until they have completed their trial.
Following being recruited, each new recruit is given their In-Character Uniform by their recruiter and welcome into the Order in an initiation ceremony.
Events & Activity Edit
Most story lines focus around larger campaigns, built upon smaller events and plots. It is not uncommon for most events to reach upwards of 60-80 people, and often stretch anywhere from 40 minutes to 6 or 7 hours, depending upon the date and start time.
The campaigns are broad strokes, filled in with small developments and character progression that stretches out over months. The Siege of Stromgarde - the first truly 'large' event hosted by the Order, was composed of a week long siege boasting 40+ roleplayers - and has set the standard for Roleplaying events for the guild. On the larger campaigns, such as the Siege, roleplay is constant, including small events like shoring up fortifications, gathering supplies, scouting missions and search and rescue - while the large events are the big time sieges and battles - drawing resources from all aspects of the guild, such as cavalry, shield walls, airborne units and siege/ranged formations. With the addition of allied forces at most events, even the most basic combat turns into an unforgettable event.
Most stories, on the large scale, are handled by Dungeon Masters, such as Tiberios the Cold - providing some order to the chaos of war.
Most weeks find smaller events, such as training, sparing, sermons, lectures, lessons and a new 'do it yourself' events called Quests which are mini-dungeon mastered events, fully prepared, that can be tapped on the website.
The most notable event hosted by the Golden Law is the Court of Honor, a ceremony in which honors, promotions and awards are presented, as well as the initiation of new members. This event is hosted once a month in Hearthglen. Allies are often present at the ceremony, and several have been honored with commendations for their actions.
The Golden Law has regiments stationed all over Azeroth, but currently only two regiments are active for daily roleplay with members.
The Southern Regiment Edit
Founded to combat the undead threat in the South of the Eastern Kingdoms, the Golden Law dispatched some fifty persons under the title of the Southern Regiment to establish a forward position in Duskwood, and later the Blasted Lands where, over the past year, the Order and its allies have fought against the undead, a small resurgent sect of the Cult of the Damned under the leadership of Victor Marrow - which it still fights to this day, and the feral Worgen which still attack travelers. They are also bound to aid in the defense of small townships against the demons that continue to roam the land.
The Northern Regiment Edit
A long standing regiment based in Northrend to watch over the remnants of the Scourge and to aid the Argent Crusade, the Northern Regiment has recently ceased all communication with the Golden Law Chancellory, based in Stormwind. Concerned, the Chancellory has dispatched a group of some thirty members of the Order to ascertain the current situation of the Regiment, based in the Grizzly Hills were recent contact with the undead has had the Golden Law on high alert. There is suspicion that the recent attacks and loss of communication may be linked to the recent disappearance of the Highlord.
