Sang Grail is a social raiding guild on the US based Dalaran server. The guild has 400+ members at the start of Cataclysm and is unique because of the fact that they are highly successful raiders yet still maintain a great social, family-like feel to the guild as a whole.
Additional information about the guild can be found on the web site at www.WOWSangGrail.com .
Sang Grail was created on October 1st, 2006. It started off as a more casual, social-based guild but eventually began raiding as more members hit the level cap and became interested in end-game content. Sang Grail has experienced success in both the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade and in the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansions.
Sang Grail has expanded recently to include several members of others guilds that we considered "friend / alliance" guilds. Most new members of the guild are friends of members or friends of friends, etc. We believe strongly in having a family-friendly environment and also showing respect for everyone.
As stated before, Sang Grail has experienced great success in their raiding endeavors. Our focus has been on 10 man raids, generally with one or two raiding groups raiding 2 nights a week. We also have experience in 25 man raids where we have teamed up with other guilds. With the changes with Cataclysm, our focus will be solely on 10 man raids, at least initially. We were able to successfully kill The Lich King in Icecrown Citadel.
While there is a designated leader for each Sang Grail run, everyone chips in with the process of learning the bosses by reading up on the encounters and watching videos. Everyone's input is welcome as we formulate the plan that works for our raiding group(s). This unique type of communication has lead to the creation of many guild-specific strategies that have allowed Sang Grail to thrive in raids.
We have many new raiding members in the guild at the start of Cataclysm, so we are all excited to start raiding the new content.
While Sang Grail takes their raid progression seriously, they are also very highly focused on the social aspect of the game. Many members take pleasure in helping out less experienced or lower level players overcome obstacles they find challenging. Furthermore, the guild Ventrilo system always has at least a couple members simply casually talking and fostering the social feel to the guild. For this reason, Sang grail falls under the unique classification of a "Social Raiding Guild".
