Overview

A friendly guild mainly geared to fun and learning and helping others. The Guild name came from a blend of the Stone Temple Pilots, a grunge band, and the Sunken Temple, a level 50 instance dungeon later on in the game.

Guild progress

Since STP is not a raid guild it is hard to give a good overview on the guild progress. The most notable progress is growing from 70 members around februari 2007 to having close to 500 members around christmas 2007.

History

This guild was formed around christmas 2006 by Karmageddon. To quote the leader about the origin; "when I realised many people would receive the game over Xmas and be dropped into a huge, living breathing world, with no clue what to do or where to go. I decided then, the newbies and low level players deserved a place to call home just as much as any number of level 60 end game raiding professionals."

Weekly instance schedule

  • Mon 7pm ZF 9pm RFD
  • Tue 7pm Blood Furnace 9pm Gnomer
  • Wed 7pm WC 9pm Maraudon
  • Thu 7pm Scholo 9pm RFK
  • Fri 7pm BRD 9pm more BRD (its big!)
  • Sat 7pm Ramparts 9pm SFK
  • Sun 7pm BFD 9pm SM

Guild rules

This is a summary of the rules section.

  • Be careful not to get offensive in chat
  • you're shown as a guild member by your tabard and the name over your head. So anyone begging, being rude or abusive in cities, or ruining groups deliberately will be marked or even kicked, whether its in guild or not
  • Be polite, honest, fair and respectful to all players
  • Wear your tabard with pride
  • No insulting 'noob' nonsense or leet speak
  • Don't go begging for gold/items.
  • Do ask for assistance with anything, but don't expect it
  • If you need to go to an instance, try to put a group together first
  • Use Need/Greed sane. You should always press greed unless you will be able to use it now or in a couple of levels and it is better than what you have.
  • Anyone being disruptive, rude, or breaking guild rules will now receive a warning and a 'mark' on their public note. 3 marks and you'll be either demoted or, more usually, kicked from guild. These marks will fade over time, however.
  • On the flipside, anyone found being especially useful, helpful, friendly, and 'playing in the spirit of the guild' can earn 'good' marks, which will count towards future promotions.

"Anyway, after all that, I hope it shows that the rules are purely to keep the bad elements away, and I hope we will all play together for the good of the guild and each other!"
