About the Guild

The 5th Horizon is the oldest guild on the Blackwater Raiders server, continuing to thrive under the same name and same ideals since week one of the server.

The 5th Horizon was born from an idea that enjoying a game we all spend our time and hard earned money on can still be just that, a joy to play, while still being successful in the area of raiding and team oriented PvP. Without the stress in which so many people succumb to when it stops being something to enjoy or look forward to in our spare time and more of a chore. More of a job.

Our goal is to find that happy-medium between hard work, teamwork, commitment, perseverance, and enjoyment. Where progression doesn't translate into depression. Where the people are the central focus. Something everyone can be proud of and enjoy.

The 5th Horizon will NOT be role play enforced. We are aware and understand some mature players roll on role play servers to escape the black hole which are regular PvP servers and their lack of maturity. We respect that decision and are compassionate towards their real lack of choice for a place they can enjoy the game. Role playing will be strongly encouraged but will not be a requirement in The 5th Horizon.

Over our time in World of Warcraft, as previously mentioned, we have been in a handful of guilds. Four to be exact. Through all of those experienced we've learned, grown and come to understand more and more of what we're looking for in a guild. We have taken all the things we enjoyed the most and have rolled them into something we think can break that mold of a "raiding" guild versus a casual one. We do take our game seriously, understanding that without commitment, hard work, coordination, determination, with a willingness to listen and learn, that progression and experiencing all the game has to offer (beyond the single player campaign) is not possible. With that being said, we understand our real reason for playing. We also understand for some people, their motivation comes from a different source.

We aren't perfect. We will be faced with tough decisions along the way and we will handle them the best way we know how. We will base those decisions on what we feel is the right thing to do. What we think is the best course of action for our member base. People will be treated as just that, people.

In conclusion, what we are trying to do is create a place for like-minded players, family and friends can come to enjoy their free time, without worry of guild politics, stressful raiding pressure to be the best or the first, and immature trolls who get kicks out of causing problems. We want our members to do what they want to do, as long as it doesn't hinder the experience for others. We will be successful at raiding, we will have the desire to be competitive PvP players with a strong battlegroup presence, without losing the focus of the ultimate goal: Fun! It's what we want and what we wanted in a guild.
