The Guildless of Moon Guard is a casual PvE-raiding guild founded in late October, 2008. The guild was composed of a tight-knit group of IRL friends formerly from the guild Talisman, but in a few short months, expanded to over 80 members. The guild has currently cleared all current content except for Heroic Eye of Eternity.

Environment

The Guildless are known for their uncensored, unmitigated guild chat. It is not for the faint of heart. Their raiding culture is extremely casual and focuses on fun, rather than performance. It is not uncommon to hear three members shouting the same catchphrase simultaneously over Ventrilo chat during a Kel'thuzad fight, or for a member to interrupt discussion of boss tactics with a sample from Ludacris' Blow It Out.

The Guildless wants its members to enjoy itself, and views raiding as an excellent medium for socializing with online friends. The idea is that members tend to perform better during raids if they don't think about them so hard. The policy seems to work.

Tips for New Members

All members of all classes are encouraged and available for membership. Minimum level is "if you can go to Northrend, you're in." The guild has no true gear requirements (The first clear of Naxx10 was done mostly in quest blues), as all of the oldest members have nearly full Heroic Raid epics and are more than willing to carry a few members through a raid to get the essential items they need. Emphasis is placed on competence and the ability to follow basic directions, and guild members are valued by this factor alone.

As stated above, the guild's culture is not for the squeamish, and most new members often undergo an impromptu "hazing" ritual, in which in lieu of a greeting, all online members will often degrade them in all caps and scream racial slurs for approximately five minutes. This may be attributed to an excess of caffeine and various intoxicating substances, but nevertheless, those who survive come out stronger for it, and become (sometimes) respected and valued members of the guild.
