A long time ago, the ancient Goldrinn fought with the Children of the Moon against the hordes of the Burning Legion. He slaughtered hundreds of demons, before he fell in battle. His spirit, however, survived and it fled the presence of the battlefield and sought refuge in the forests of Ashenvale, where the Earthmother saw him. For his cowardice she decided to punish him and thus she recovered his burned, scarred corpse from the presence of Mount Hyal and in it she scorched Goldrinn's spirit, binding him forever to the mortal world as the Ghost Howl, to remain so until someone would free his spirit by finishing the task that was given to him when he was sent on earth more than ten thousand years ago; to destroy all that is corrupted.

It was many centuries later that the huntress Akwana found him and after being defeated in a duel with him, was instructed to fight the demons in his honour.

And so throughout generations, as Akwana became a chieftain of her tribe, the mission of the Spirit Wolf had been carried on and her tribe fought the fel demons like they promised.

They named their demi-god Waluu, the Spirit Wolf in Taurahe.

Seven children did Powaqua bear to chief Aqowan the Blind. As they grew up, the elderly woman had shown her true self, having been a Grimtotem witch. She betrayed the tribe to gain favour of a Grimtotem chieftain and led to the Wolves' destruction; one that had long been rumoured of, after the tensions with the grim pelted tauren had arisen because of conflicting opinions.

Most of the tribesmen were slaughtered with the exception of chief Aqowan, but their children lived. However, they were scattered and no leadership of the Wolves was assumed until Takuur son of Tahruu was born, and after learning more of his ancestry from his father, summoned a call to all like-minded Shu'halo, for a common cause; to fight corruption.

So it happened that the tribe regrew and many answered the call. However, their peace came to a bitter end after their chief died, rumourably poisoned by Ahowa, whom the Wolves executed after she led them to a harpy's nest. The kin having fallen into sorrow was then regathered by the newly appointed chief Jadien Daepaw, who for a long time led the tribe to prosperity.

But as the great winter arrived on the threshold of Azeroth and the war in the north began, the cold winds began to freeze the tribe at its foundations; slowly undoing it, had one of Aqowan's sons, Aenokhe, not appeared mysteriously to fight the witch Ahowa, Powaqua's cousin, preventing her from deceiving the tribesmen about her intentions.

Aenokhe returned the tribesmen's faith into their existence and they pursued their ideals all the way to the ending of The Pale Riders, which resulted in many losses in the tribe's numbers. They sought rest and hibernated for a time.

It was three months later that Aenokhe appointed his son Caerake chieftain, and after fighting the controversies led them through Kalimdor, their travel leading into the apparent defeat of the Ghost Howl.

To this day, the young Caerake leads the Spirit Wolves, and not without error. With the fragile faith in him, the tribesmen were met by war and at a point pursued battle in Lordareon and Ashenvale, becoming fiercer in their battle against them.

Now, the tribal shamans whisper of the instability in the elements and weapons and armours are forged as the tribe prepares for war, no longer their former, peaceful self. The clarion call to arms has sounded, the horns blown and the banners set.

Who shall be the victor?
