General Information

This guild was formed on the realm Kirin Tor US. It is dedicated towards Role Playing, assistaning others with gameplay aspects and a friendly community involvment. For a RP recruitment read goto [1]. For more information you can contact, in-game, the chieftain Rutahnma, Rutah's greatfather Totorro, the current guild banker Steppingrock, or one of our elders Littlepaw.

OOC History

The Thunderhorn Tribe was originally formed by Rutahnma, and a small group of friends. Rutahnma had previous experiance as a Guild Leader as the head of a much similar guild on the server Twisting Nether US, which is a RP-PvP server. Under the name of Hartariko he was the founder with the help of a player known as Imalo, and leader of the guild Windmane Tribe. Finding a general lack of RP on his previous server, Hartariko decided to switch to a RP server. He choose Kirin Tor. After doing some research into the state of the quality of RP on the Kirin Tor server, the character Rutahnma was created. During the time that Rutahnma was leveling he was amember of the guild Amicus. After gaining some considerable levels the player Rutahnma decided to resurect the former ideals of his previous guild and created the Thunderhorn Tribe. Now, as chieftain of the Thunderhorn Tribe, the guild seeks to recruit tauren players interested in Role Playing. Learning of the Intercontinental Coalition thourgh being a member of the guild Amicus, Rutahnma thought it would be a good idea the newly formed Thunderhorn Tribe to become a part of the coalition of Horde RP guilds, and thus did. Currently, the Thunderhorn Tribe works to have a friendly community presence, host RP events for their guild as well as events open to the public, and form PvE events such as dungeon or instances runs. Some members of this guild, including the chieftain, participate in PvP.

Guild Guidelines

  • The Thunderhorn Tribe is a RP (roleplaying) and PvE (Player Vs. Enviornment) guild for taurens. The rp basis is simply that all members should rp as a member of the Thunderhorn tribal family, either through bloodline, adoption, or other method. It is up to the individual to construct how they have become part of the Thunderhorn.
  • Guild chat is IC (In Character) please remember to stay within character when typing in the guild chat. The Guild chat also has a location for it's setting. The location for our guild chat is the empty tent (and by empty I mean there are no npcs within) at Camp Tuarajo, across from the inn. This tent doubles as our tribe's place of meeting as well as Rutahnma's home, though it is also a home for all the tribe. Exceptions to the setting of the guild chat (such as speaking through a device or magic) are more than ok just be creative about it. After all, a part of rping is to be creative, have fun, and respect other's creativity.
  • There is an in-game channel seperate from the guild chat channel for OOC (Out Of Character) chat. In order to speak OOC with Thunderhorn Tribe guild members you simply need to look under the guild information tabe in-game, once having joined the guild.
  • Rutahnma is always happy to hear from the members (or anyone else for that matter) on advice or suggestions on how to make the guild better, and anyone can contact him in-game, on the guild's forums through a post under the Suggestions thread, a Private Message if a member of the coalition's forums, or you can e-mail him at ThunderhornChief@hotmail.com.
  • Should anyone have a complaint conserning the Thunderhorn Tribe, just contact Rutahnma and he will try his best to resolve the issue.

Climbing The Totem Pole (Guild Ranks & Progression)

The ranks of the Thunderhorn Tribe are designed to help members immerse themselves and have a more in-depth Role Playing experience as members of the tribe. The following ranks are in the order of lewst to highest. The following is taken directly from the guild web forums:

1.) Softhoof - A newcomer to our family.

  • Rank benefits: Introduction to the Thunderhorn Tribe!

How to climb higher:

a.) The first trail of the Thunderhorn, assigned to all newcomers and younglings as a coming of age ritual, is to face the mighty kodo that roam the lands of Mulgore or the Barrens. Meet the gaze of these powerful creatures, learn their resilient spirit. Learn our people's love for the hunt and our livelyhood we graciously take from the kodo. Give thanks to them and the Earthmother for their death, so that you and we may live. Waste not what you have killed and as proof of your actions bring to me or a hhigh Elder one each of three of the following four items: a 'Kodo Horn Fragment', a 'Dull Kodo Tooth', a hunk of 'Kodo Meat', or a piece of 'Thin Kodo Leather'. The softhoof will only need three out of the four items total, but no two items may be the same. In order to complete the trail the softhoof may either send the three items to the Chieftain or a High Elder through the mail, or give the items to one of them in person. Once the items are recieved the trail will be declared completed when the softhoof is given the ritual of becoming a brave.

Upon completion of the first of the Thunderhorn Trails the softhoof will be granted the proud title as a Brave of the Thunderhorn tribe

2.) Brave - A full fledge member of our tribe.

  • Rank benefits: Reconition as a full fledged member of the tribe, Given the information to access the Coalition's in-game channel, and the option to edit your own public note. As well, opinions and suggestions expressed will be taken into considertaion giving Braves some influence concerning guild matters.

How to climb higher:

There are two steps in becoming more than a brave of the Thunderhorn.

a.) In order to see that our guardians of the plains are experinced enough for their positions and to proudly represent the Thunderhorn the first step is for the Brave to achieve their 20th level of experience.

b.) Once the first part is completed the second half of this trail is for the Brave to lay before the tribe the story of theirself. Post your character's background story here on the forums in the thread 'Character Backgrounds,' and be sure to include how you have become a member of the Thunderhorn, either it be through birth and blood relation into the tribe, or adoption. This second half of the trail will further stregthen your RP and give others information on your character allowing each other to build upon our stories with one another.

Once both of these prerequisites have been achived the brave is to inform myself or a High Elder so that their second trail can be announced as complete and be bestowed the noble title of a Plains Guardian through the ceremony of the Plain's Guardian Inaguration.

3.) Plain's Guardain - A respected member, some one you can count on.

  • Rank benefits: Access to request items and money from the guild's bank. Opinions and suggestions hold more sway involving tribal matters.

How to climb higher:

The third trail of the Thunderhorn is that set before the Plain's Guardain to be revered as a Tribal Champion.

a.) The fist step toward becoming a Tribal Champion is reaching the 40th level of experience.

b.) After the gaurdain has gain this skill and experiance the next step on their path is to travel to the shu'halo capital of Thunder Bluff and learn the lore and history of we tauren. Seek out the scrolls that hold this knowledge in Thunder Bluff. The Plain's Guardian must find them on their own accord and begining with the Mist of Dawn they are to read the scrolls and take in the writings into their hearts and minds so that they may recite the Mist of Dawn scroll to myself or a High Elder.

c.) The third and final step to this trail and perhaps the most important the Guardain is to learn what it means to truely be a champion of his people by giving aid to any member of the tribe lower in rank than themselves. This aid can include helping with a quest, or anything for that matter except giving them money. The tribe member recieving the aid is to provide the proof of the Plain's Guardian's aid by ethier informing myself or a High Elder verbally or with a letter.

Upon completion of all three steps the guardian will surpass their title and be known amongst us as a true Tribal Champion.

4.) Tribal Champion - A champion among us. One we can all look up to, aspire to be more like and be inspired by. Someone you may call upon when in need and a potential for the elder's counsel. Holds some say in tribal decisions.

  • Rank benefits: Recognition as a champion of the tribe, eligiblility for considertaion as an elder, ability to invite new members to the guild, ability to listen in on the guild's Officer Chat, and access to view Officer Notes, and opinions & suggestions expressed hold a very good influence concerning tribal matters, more so than lower ranks.

How to climb higher:

The fourth tribal rite is a very special one indeed. A Tribal Champion is so because they have shown dedication, compassion, resourcefulness, intelligence, and strength. As a revered champion among the Thunderhorn shu'halo a member shows all these qualities and is a representation of greatness for others of the tribe to look to, and the Elders' Counsel Rite of Initiation (ECRI) reflects the vitures of the champion and pushes them to excel even further.

a.) For the first requirment of the ECRI is that the Tripal Champion must be of at least the experience level of 50. Reaching this level of experiance insures that the champion is indeed worthy of initiation into the Elder's Counsel by possesing the skills and knowledge it takes to lead and give advice to others.

b.) After the champion, who seeks initiation into the Elder's Counsel, has reached the 50th level of experience their next assignment is to search for a lone tauren ((A tauren that does not belong to a guild)) and welcome them into the tribe, brining to us a new softhoof to help our family grow. By inviteing a new member into our tribe the champion does the work of the Earth Mother of gathering her lost children, and further expresses their compassion for their fellow shu'halo.

c.) Thirdly, the next step of the champion to fulfill the initation, is to personally ((meaning without the help of anyone else)) organize, oversee, and operate a tribal event ((This can include anything from a meeting that we call a pow wow, a simple rp event like a camping trip, or any kind of guild gathering; just be creative and have fun.)). Through the champions organization and running of a tribal event they gain the talents needed to aid and advise in tribal happenings and decisions.

d.) The final step of the initiation is considered an honor for both the champion seeking entry into the counsel and both the counsel and the chieftain as well. The last step is the initiation ceremony its self. The ceremony is secret to all but the chieftain the counsel of elders and the candidate. The ECRI ceremony will be held in seclusion (most likely at a schedualed time) with as many as possible members of the elders counsel with the chieftain (I must be present) and of course the candidate (Humor and fun are sure to ensue!). All previous steps of the champion's trail must be completed before the ceremony can take place.

Once all prerequisites have been fulfulled the chieftain is bestowed the honor of asking the Tribal Champion to join the counsel and become an Elder of the Thunderhorn Tribe.

5.) Elder - A member of the elder's counsel whom hold the most say in matters effecting the guild as a whole. The elder's counsel is both a voting body who have the power to represent the tribe (though ultimately every fulfleged member has a say), and a source of advice to the Chief and High Elder(s). Although even if the elder counsel votes for one thing the chief may veto the vote (though not likely unless it is a major guild altering vote, see Chieftain).

  • Rank benefits: Recognitions as holding an esttem position amongst the tribe. Opinions, concerns, and suggestions hold major sway when dealing with tribal matters, as Elders are a core decision making componet of the tribe. Able to promote; leading rituals and ceremonies in order to promote lower ranking members, Ability to speak in officer chat, cabability to set Officer Notes. Eligibility for consideration as a High Elder.

How to climb higher:

Only exceptional, helpful, and insightful members of the counsel deemed by the Chieftain and, if any, High Elder(s), are able to surpass this position into becoming a high elder. Though, there are a few essentail qualities for a member of the elder's counsel to exebit to even be considered for a position as a High elder. The first of which is that any potential High Elder must be at least of the 60th level of experience. Other qualities looked upon are how active the elder is in tribal happenings, and how much they contribute to the tribe as a whole. As well as how well they execute task including: event planning, event administration, RPing quality, ("Oh man! Come on, Rutah! Now your just being anal.") and etc. I'm not being that uptight, after all this is a RP guild. When I say 'how well someone RPs' I don't mean how good I think their character is developed or how well they build upon their storyline with others or anything like that (Although those things sure wouldn't hurt), I mostly mean how well a particular individual types and correctly conveys messages, which can be a big issue when it comes to RP and just about any matters when working and interacting with numerous people. Now this doesn't mean that a player has to have emaculate proper english or never has any typos, 'cause lord knows that I do (especially after I've slugged back a few cold ones), it just means that they effectively communicate their ideas and do not butcher the english language.

Please keep in mind that just because an Elder may be of at least the 60th level, contributes a great deal to the tribe, is an excellent conveyer of thoughts and exibits all the fine qualities mentioned beforehand does not mean that they will automatically be made a High Elder. The situation of becoming a High Elder is puposely not formed in a way so that someone can complete a set number of task in order to gain the next rank up. This is done so because the position of High Elder holds much power as well as much responsability. High Elders are basically to be acting chieftains during my absence, and if ever there is more than one High Elder at any given time they need to work togeather effectively with as few squabbles as possible between each other. Secondly, too many High Elders could cause drama and/or powerstruggles. Therefore the numbers of High Elders is limited, although not set to any maximum number. However, if one desires to become a High Elder all they have to do to bypass all of the requirements no matter what their rank is to donate 100,000 gold to the guild bank! LOL, I'm just kidding. Seriously though, do not be discouraged in trying to become a High Elder if you really want to. The way High Elders are ultimately chosen is I and any current High Elder(s) look upon the afore mentioned qaulities and any others that we may see nessesary. If we agree that there is a need for another High Elder and that a particular Elder would be a great asset to the tribe as a High Elder; I will personally ask the elder to take the position, and of course the Elder can refuse if they so choose without any worry of punishment of any sort.

6.) High Elder - Leader of the Elder counsel. This position has nearly all the power of the chief, is a second in command, and an acting chieftain in my absence. Note: there may be more than one high elder (My alts Totorro and Steppingrock do not count as actual High Elders). Holds the most sway in tribal matters second to the chief, though can still be out voted by the elder counsel.

  • Rank benefits: Recognition as holding the most esteemed position possible with due respect and honor. Voice holds the greatest most influence besides the Chieftain concerning tribal matters. 2nd in command and acting chieftain in the absence of the Chieftain, all the capabilites of the Chieftain except rank modification.

How to climb higher:

Don't count on it unless I decide to give up the guild.

6.) Chieftain - The leader of the pack, . . . er, herd or whatever. The one who has the final say so (and the most work to do) for the guild.
