Who are The Trimmers?
The Trimmers were originally founded in May of 2003 as an Outfit in the game PlanetSide. As the group grew and time passed, some members, loosing interest in PlanetSide, began to drift away and as Trimmers we decided we didn’t like saying goodbye to anyone. So, the group was transformed into the online gaming guild it is today, sponsoring any game that Trimmers choose to play.
Since that time the Trimmers have become well known, respected and left their mark in many online gaming communities. They helped form and lead the alliance of Outfits in PlanetSide that was the only organization to ever control the entire gaming world. They were among the first to found a player city in Star Wars Galaxies – a city grand in scale and design. In City of Heroes, their Operatives Supergroup movies are widely known, with one being selected as an ‘Honorable Mention’ in the first Official City of Heroes Film Festival. And the Operatives Supergroup will appear in Issue 8 of the Official City of Heroes comic book. The Trimmers continue this tradition of in-depth gaming community involvement, ambitious goals and coordinated teamwork in every game they choose to tackle.
Above all, The Trimmers’ goal is always to have fun. For The Trimmers, this fun is derived from a well organized, team-work oriented group of online friends and family working together as courteous adults. The Trimmers prize coordinated effort above personal ability, the group over the individual and team achievement over individual success. Trimmers are selfless players, who gain satisfaction from helping their fellow Trimmers and seeing the group as a whole succeed. The Trimmers succeed or fail as a group and enjoy their online gaming time in the company of their online family.
Though The Trimmers, from its long history, have become a close-knit online family, they are always looking to warmly welcome new members who share this same online gaming philosophy. A closed guild becomes stagnant, and The Trimmers are always looking forward to the fresh perspective, excitement and personality new members can bring to the group.

What does the word "Trimmer" mean?
The term "trimmer" is in reference to Dante’s Divine Comedy, where a group of souls known as trimmers linger in limbo, being refused entrance by both heaven and hell.
"Heaven casts them out and the depth of Hell does not receive them"
For us, the term “trimmer” has come to mean a home in the limbo of the online gaming world.
