General Information

Virtuous is an end-game guild dedicated to mature, skilled progression in Blizzard's World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Virtuous cleared Black Temple as of June 16, 2008, and is currently farming BT in preparation for entering Sunwell Plateau.

Virtuous emphasizes attitude above all else: players who sincerely wish to progress and dedicate themselves to this progression fit in well with Virtuous. The GM, Vectivus, and the officers emphasize player cohesion and synergy to promote a raid atmosphere conducive to rapid progression.

Guild History

Formed on The Underbog in January of 2007, the core team that founded Virtuous has a history dating back to November of 2004, when World of Warcraft was released. With the formation of Virtuous, members began to gear up and start clearing Karazhan. Starting with a first kill of Attumen on June 20th, 2007, Virtuous fully cleared Karazhan on July 23rd, 2007 and began to recruit and gear up players in preparation for beginning 25-man content. Attempts in Gruul's Lair began in early August 2007 as the guild filled out gaps in the raiding roster. By the end of August, Virtuous had a successful raiding lineup, had cleared Gruul's Lair and began to move to more challenging content.

Facing more difficult content, Virtuous looked to fill various recruitment slots, as unexpected attrition caused openings in various roster spots. Virtuous killed [Magtheridon (tactics)|Magtheridon]] early in September of 2007 and moved quickly through Tempest Keep and Serpentshrine Cavern. On November 13, 2007, Virtuous was the world first guild to kill the first and second bosses of Zul'Aman, Nalorakk and Akil'zon. The first Lady Vashj kill came on December 2, 2007 after just two nights of work. Facing the upcoming holiday season, Virtuous' raid schedule was slowed down significantly and a first Kael'Thas kill came on January 13th, 2008. This placed Virtuous in the 2nd place position on the server, just behind the now-defunct guild Faith, and placed it as one of two successful Tier 6 guilds on the server.

Finally moving onto Tier 6 content, Virtuous had faced unexpected losses in many parts of its roster, and began to aggressively recruit and attune players to Mount Hyjal and Black Temple. These players came mostly in the form of server transfers, that had recently opened up to The Underbog. Virtuous raided successfully through Mount Hyjal and Black Temple, clearing 3/5 and 4/9 until early March, 2008. Due to significant turnover and low population, coupled with the logistical troubles caused by constantly attuning players to Tier 6 content, Virtuous disbanded, unable to field a successful raid. Following the disbanding, many players found homes in other guilds on the server, while many others transferred to higher population servers that were more capable of supporting raiding guilds. Patch 2.4 was released just two weeks after Virtuous disbanded, adding a significant sting to the hard decision of disbanding the guild.

Many players, unhappy with their new guilds and/or servers found themselves talking to their old guild mates, and eventually word was spread that Vectivus was considering a reformation of Virtuous, albiet on a different server. As these talks came to fruition, interested members began to discuss various server choices and began to prepare themselves for the move. Eventually, Black Dragonflight was selected as the candidate server, and moves began to commence almost immediately upon the decision. Virtuous was reformed and began to welcome back members as they transferred to their new home. By May 18th, 2008, almost all of the old members interested in reforming the guild had transferred in, and recruitment to fill empty roster positions began.

An unfortunate set of circumstances, occurring simultaneously with the reforming of Virtuous, caused the Black Dragonflight guild Exodus to disband. After talks with some of the members, some decided to join Virtuous, and were accepted into the guild shortly after it was formed. Virtuous re-cleared Tier 5 content to re-familiarize themselves, and then swiftly moved into Tier 6 content. By May 26th 2008 Virtuous had moved into Hyjal and killed Azgalor and Archimonde on the same night. Progression continued at its brisk pace, seeing Gurtogg Bloodboil die June 2nd followed shortly by Reliquary of Souls and Mother Shahraz on June 4th. The following day, Virtuous downed Illidari Council. The culmination of months of work came when a reformed Virtuous finally slew Illidan Stormrage(tactics) for the first time on June 16th, 2008.

Virtuous is now farming Tier 6 content, preparing to enter Sunwell Plateau and begin attempts on Kalecgos.
