Information

Description

Zandalari is a heavy role playing guild, with all members devoting a considerable amount of time to role play. Most members still engage in player versus environment combat, but playing World of Warcraft in the conventional sense is rarely a focus of players. Some members also engage in player versus player combat, but this again is a minority. Zandalari will occasionally combine role playing with player versus enemy or player versus player combat, engaging in these activities while remaining in character and doing so with role playing motivations. The guild role plays and engages in story lines that are often extremely violent, coarse, sexual, or of other types inappropriate for minors. As such, all members must either be 18 years of age, or prove that they are a mature individual and recognize that the guild is not responsible for their actions. However, Zandalari DOES keep this in mind and will ban underage members who excessively engage in behaviors unsuitable for them.

Members

The guild consists entirely of Trolls. Zandalari is a tribe of Trolls. As such, while they may be friendly with other races, only a Troll character may join the guild as a member. Zandalari does not restrict its members from creating alts of other races, and does not practice any sort of out of character discrimination against non-Troll characters. In character, however, several members' characters dislike a number of non-Troll races (particularly Blood Elves). Some characters even dislike other species of Trolls. Although World of Warcraft only allows players to create Troll characters of the Darkspear Tribe, many players who engage in role play are willing to accept a slight bending of rules to say that certain Troll characters are from other tribes. Zandalari allows Trolls of any tribe, as long as the character has a backstory that supplies sufficient reason for them to join. As such, many characters in the guild are from tribes other than th Darkspear, and Zandalari contains a wide variety.

Premise

Considering this variety in tribes, the Zandalari should not be confused with the Zandalar Tribe. While some characters in the guild are Zandalar Trolls, most are not. Zandalari is an offshoot tribe originally created by Kenyeni. In the storyline that the guild follows, she was appointed by King Rastakhan to build up a tribe of Trolls with the intent of retaking former Troll lands and to spread the ways of the Old Gods and the Loa.

Role Play

The Zandalari themselves are extremely varied, and are considered quite wild by most other citizens of the Horde. While they are by no means completely savage, uncultured, or uncivilized, the Zandalari are a tribe of Trolls and are quite proud of it. Publicly they have denounced cannibalism just like the Darkspear, but there are rumors that some members may not have given it up and several members often make jokes about it. Some Zandalari Trolls still practice forms of voodoo, and they almost all worship the Loa and shun all other religions. They are a violent bunch that enjoy fighting as much as any Troll, and will do so at most opportunities. Some members are considered insane. They also enjoy eating, dancing, and music, and have a tendency to engage in all three practically any time there is a gathering of them. Most Zandalari are not unfriendly, per se, but they are cautious by default and it takes quite a bit to make them reconsider. Finally, they are a highly sexual bunch and seem to lack modesty, restraint, or tact compared to "normal society". In short, the Zandalari are prime examples of every aspect of Trolls.

Lore

Zandalari and all guild members consider the following to be true while role playing:

  • King Rastakhan appointed Kenyeni to assemble the Zandalari in order to retake former Troll lands and spread the ways of the Old Gods and the Loa.
  • Hakkar the Soulflayer has been defeated and is currently not present in Azeroth.
  • Zul'Gurub has been purged of the Gurubashi Tribe, and is currently being rebuilt into a productive Troll village where the Zandalari live.
  • All Zandalari Trolls know how to speak the tribe's private language, a modified version of Zandali. This is aided with the custom language-adding AddOn Lore.

Inter-Guild Relations

Zandalari is open to interactions with any role playing guild, and is willing to attend or help plan cross-guild role play events. It is also open to discussions of setting up alliances, enemies, etc.

Events

The Zandalari regularly attend most Horde-side role playing-based events in Moon Guard, but there are a few recurring events that members often attend or even run themselves. Zandalari members either run or can usually be found at the following events:

Grom'gol Base Camp Bonfire

  • Host: Zandalari
  • Location: Grom'gol Base Camp
  • Days: Various
  • Time: Various

This is not specifically an event, but it is a common happening with the Zandalari. At almost any given time of day on any day of the week, at least one member of Zandalari will be online. There is an extremely high chance that at least one member will be somewhere near Grom'gol Base Camp, specifically sitting around the large fire in the middle. This is a common hang out for all members of the guild, and it is not uncommon to see groups of five or more Zandalari Trolls gathered around the fire. Occasionally members will sit out on the beaches or swim in the nearby ocean.

Story Circle

  • Host: Zandalari (Kenyeni, Sooja, or Zimmi)
  • Location: Grom'gol Base Camp
  • Days: Thursday
  • Time: 8PM server time

Most of the Zandalari Trolls enjoy stories a lot, and tell them often. As such, they hold a story circle almost every week. They tend to invite all allied and friendly guilds, and anyone else is welcome as long as they aren't rude and don't interrupt. As expected, everyone present sits in a circle and take turns telling stories. The stories themselves vary from speaker to speaker; there is never really any set "theme".
