Patch changes[]

  • Dragonflight Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Redesigned as a row 10 class talent (was a level 35 talent). Now empowers abilities not associated with your specialization.
    Old: Abilities associated with your chosen Affinity are substantially empowered for 45 sec.
    Restoration Affinity: Healing of Restoration abilities increased by 30%, and mana costs reduced by 50%.
    Feral Affinity: Damage of Feral abilities increased by 30%, and combo point-generating critical strikes generate an additional combo point.
    Balance Affinity: Damage of Balance abilities increased by 30%, and Starsurge is instant.
    Guardian Affinity: Bear Form gives an additional 20% Stamina, multiple uses of Ironfur may overlap, and Frenzied Regeneration has 2 charges.

  • Shadowlands Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Re-added and redesigned as a level 35 talent (was level 90). Now empowers your chose Affinity when activated and shifts you into the appropriate form upon cast.
    Old: When activated, dramatically improves the Druid's abilities in the three non-specialization roles (healing, tanking, spell damage, and melee damage).
  • Legion Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Removed.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.1.0 (2015-02-24): Now increases spell damage by 150% (down from 200%), and Agility in Cat Form by 75% (down from 110%).
  • Warlords of Draenor Hotfix (2014-11-25): Heart of the Wild's bonuses are now halved when used while in PvP combat.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Redesigned. Now improves the Druid's abilities in the three non-specialization roles when activated (healing, tanking, spell damage, and melee damage).
    Old: Increases Stamina, Agility, and Intellect by 6% at all times. When activated, increases all healing done and dramatically improves the Druid's ability to perform roles outside of their normal specialization for 45 sec.
    Non-Guardian: While in Bear Form, Agility, Expertise, Hit Chance, and armor bonuses increased, Vengeance granted, chance to be hit by melee critical strikes reduced.
    Non-Feral: While in Cat Form, Agility, Hit Chance, and Expertise increased.
    Non-Restoration: Mana cost of all healing spells reduced by 100%. Guardian Druids may also cast Rejuvenation while shapeshifted.
    Non-Balance: Spell Damage and Hit Chance increased. Mana cost of all damage spells reduced by 100%.

  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.4.7 (2014-02-18): Heart of the Wild now provides the following benefits from PvP Power when activated:
    • Restoration Druids now receive 50% of their PvP Power applied towards damage while the ability is active (down from 100%).
    • Feral and Balance Druids now receive 100% of their PvP Power applied towards healing while the ability is active (down from 120%).
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.4.0 (2013-09-10): When activated, now also provides a 25% bonus to healing for Restoration Druids.
  • Mists of Pandaria Hotfix (2012-09-20): Non-Restoration Druids will now properly get a mana discount when casting Ability druid naturalperfection [Cenarion Ward] while Heart of the Wild is active. Feral and Guardian Druids will also properly gain increased healing.
  • Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Significantly redesigned as a level 90 talent for all druids instead of a Tier 1 Restoration talent. Now increases Stamina, Agility, and Intellect by 6% at all times. When activated, dramatically improves the Druid's ability to perform roles outside of their normal specialization for 45 sec.
    Old: Increases your Intellect by 2/4/6%. In addition, while in Bear Form your Stamina is increased by 2/4/6% and while in Cat Form your attack power is increased by 3/7/10%.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): The Bear Form Stamina bonus from this talent is now 2/4/6%, down from 3/7/10%.
  • Cataclysm Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Moved from tier 6 Feral Combat to tier 1 Restoration. Reduced from 5 ranks to 3.
  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Stamina bonus changed to 2/4/6/8/10%.
  • Bc icon Patch 2.3.0 (2007-11-13): This talent no longer provides 4/8/12/16/20% bonus Strength in Cat Form. Instead it provides 2/4/6/8/10% bonus attack power.
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.11.2 (2006-07-11): Fixed an issue where players with the Heart of the Wild talent were losing health each time they shifted to Ability racial bearform [Bear Form] or Ability racial bearform [Dire Bear Form].
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.9.1 (2006-01-10): Previously, when shifting to Bear Form or Dire Bear Form, this talent would cause your current health to increase by the same amount as your max health. Now it will cause your percentage of max health to be the same before and after the shift, as well as shifting back to humanoid form. As a result, shifting in and out of these forms will no longer cause an increase in current health.
