Taming the Beast (Tauren 1) is the first pet taming quest in the chain of three for hunters in the Tauren starting area of Mulgore. It has the hunter capture an Adult Plainstrider for use as a pet.
Objectives
Use the 
[Taming Rod] to tame an Adult Plainstrider. Practice your skills, then return the Taming Rod to Yaw Sharpmane in Bloodhoof Village.
Description
