In World of Warcraft, herb can mean one of three things:
- A plant or part of a plant that usually serves as an ingredient in some profession (usually Alchemy) but sometimes has some other use, as with certain quest items and the reagents for a druid's rebirth spell.
- A plant resource which can be harvested by those with the Herbalism profession to gain the above item or items.
- The act of harvesting such a resource with Herbalism. This is used primarily in reference to "herb skinning": the harvesting of herbs from the corpses of plant monsters.
Below is a table of all nodes that those with the herbalism profession may loot, the color code at different skill levels, what they yield, and where they are primarily found.

Note
Since patch 3.0.2, the price of herbs has gone up much higher than it was in the past due to a demand for them for milling (the sub-class of inscription). If you want to have the skill inscription, it is a good idea to be an herbalist at the same time. Otherwise, a low-level herb could cost you more than 10g!

- According to Wowhead, there are also a few Frozen Herb nodes in southestern Zul'Drak (object id 190175) which require 415 Herbalism to harvest, and a few Frozen Herb nodes in Dragonblight, Wintergrasp and Zul'Drak (object id 190174) which require 300 Herbalism to harvest.
