Heroism Shaman ability 26% of base mana 5 min cooldown Instant Increases melee, ranged, and spell casting speed by 30% for all party and raid members. Lasts 40 sec. After the completion of this effect, those affected will become Exhausted and unable to benefit from Heroism again for 10 min.

Heroism is a shaman buff. The Alliance version is Heroism, and the Horde version is [Bloodlust]. They are exactly the same aside from their name and the names of their associated debuffs.

Notes

Following patch 3.0.2, both Heroism and Bloodlust affect the entire raid. Also, everyone who is affected by the ability receives a 5 minute debuff preventing them from being affected by either Heroism or Bloodlust for the duration of the debuff (5 minutes). As of patch 3.1.0, Heroism and Bloodlust have their cooldowns reduced to 5 minutes, but Exhausted/Sated last 10 minutes.

Tactics

The most common use for heroism is during bosses in raids. When it is used varies from boss to boss and guild to guild. When soloing, it can be useful for crunch situations or tougher mobs, such as targets for group quests.

Patch changes

• Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Cooldown reduced to 5 minutes, but Exhausted now last 10 minutes.
