Overview
The Tauren might not be a major historical race but their culture and traditions are deep and profound. Tauren have great roleplaying opportunities. With a little acting a Tauren can be one of the best played races in the game.
Name
Tauren names are important as they are to any race. Choose carefully. Do not call yourself Cowman, Bighorn or Hugedruid. Earthstrider, Houndwalker, Kodospririt, Beartongue or Tigerclaw Female Names: Crowsoul, Foxtongue, Deerhoof, Raveneye or Goatsoul Family Names: Treemane, Flamehoof, Bloodmane, Leafmane or Treesoul.
Class Guide
Warrior One of the strongest races, Tauren make great warriors. Plus they look good with the Arcanite Reaper and the like. Be more level headed than Orcs and Trolls in battle. Axes and Maces are your style. Shields loook good and Tauren make great roleplay and practical tanks. Protection works best on a Tauren.
Hunter Tauren are great hunters, that goes without saying. You can use guns or bows and your pets have good variety. The hunt is important in a Taurens life and Cairne Bloodhoof is a hunter. Tauren suit leather armour and mail so you look the part most of the time, make sure you are the part as well.
Druid Tauren are great druids, in fact they make a serious rival for night elves in wisdom. The wise Tauren, the honourable Tauren and the mighty Tauren are all good for Druids. Bear and bird form suit Tauren well but remember to shift back to show off you Tauren side as well.
Shaman Master of the elements and a great balance in keeping with the Tauren's strenth, endurance and wisdom. The Earthmother is in keeping with the elements as are the Tauren and as are you. Be wise yet powerful and dangerous. Tauren make great Shamans.
Death Knight To be created.
Professions
Alchemy Not the greatest choice you might think but making potions, mixing elixirs and in keeping with herbalism.
Blacksmithing Forging is not the greatest choice but a least it is in keeping with Tauren crafting.
Cooking Tauren have a need for food and, being sociable, would help you tribe greatly.
Enchanting Best suited for the Shaman or Druid, enchanting is magical and wondrous. It is average for a Tauren.
Engineering Not well suited for Tauren at all nor will it benefit any Tauren classes much apart from Hunter.
First Aid Healers, Tauren make great healers and this is valuable. Be the Tauren healer from Thunder Bluff.
Fishing Kind of in between. Getting the title Salty does not mean you need to use it. You would surely get some kind of Burger joke.
Herbalism The best for a Tauren. Plus they have a racial bonus for it. Tauren have an affinity for nature and herb gathering would show that yours is truly deep.
Inscription A ver sociable profession, you make many things to help others and it goes with herbalism.
Jewelcrafting In line with the Tauren crafting and makes many goood items.
Leatherworking Another great one. Tauren have buildings made out of leather and this would be undoubtedly valuable.
Mining Kind of average. Not much to say.
Skinning Easy, simple and good. Skinning is essential to the Tauren civilization.
Tailoring Good but not great.
Emotes
Difficult, not to be overplayed but not to be underplayed given the fact of the Tauren's size. Good Examples: /Crowsoul stamps his hooves. /Crowsoul charges, fists foward.
Bad Examples: /Crowsoul lightly sneaks throught the room. /Crowsoul jumps silently past the guard.
Lifestyle
Diet
Tauren are omnivores so they can balance nature there. They eat healthily, in moderation and drink well water. You should avoid eating too much as Tauren are more muscle than fat and should be given a healthey balanced diet.
Faith
Tauren revere the Earthmother.
