Howling Blast is a Death knight ability that allows the death knight to blast several targets around them for frost damage. While the tooltip damage may seem low, it benefits from your Attack Power (dealing about 1000 damage to targets inflicted with Frost Fever with 1500 AP, Glacier Rot and Black Ice).

Talents
- Glacier Rot increases damage by 20% against diseased enemies.
- Black Ice increases damage by 10%.
- Deathchill makes your next Howling Blast, Icy Touch, Frost Strike or Obliterate a critical if used within 30 seconds.
- Killing Machine have a chance to make your next Howling Blast, Icy Touch or Frost Strike critical if used within 30 seconds.
- Merciless Combat increases damage by 12% against targets with less than 35% health.
- Guile of Gorefiend increases the critical strike damage bonus by 45%, resulting in critical hits doing 222.5% damage.
- Dark Conviction increases critical strike chance by 5%.
- Rime makes Icy Touch to have a 5/10% chance to cause your next Howling Blast consume no runes and resets the cooldown on Howling Blast.

- Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Base damage and scaling doubled.This ability no longer deals bonus damage to targets with Frost Fever. 8-second cooldown. Swapped positions with Hungering Cold in the talent tree.
