In essence, a Huntard is a Hunter player who does not know how to play his class or plays it poorly. Hunters have this stigma above all other classes.
Various reasons seem to exist to explain this. The class is easy to level, has an intuitive battle strategy, easily dumps aggro (more then likely onto the healer) and allows flexibility with weapons. However, they require a fair amount more skill to play well in an endgame setting than most other classes. Huntards are especially disliked in low-level PUGs, where an errant pet might cause an annoying and expensive wipe to a group versus the pet-using, squishier, and presumably more careful Warlock. Likewise, a decent PvE hunter easily levels solo, compared to more group-oriented players like healers or tanks. Huntards are also infamous for rolling Need on items and equipment not considered true upgrades, if not outright ill-suited to their class, usually under the excuse of being used as statsticks. In addition, huntards often melee the target rather than fighting at range. They are notorious for being self-centered and egomaniacal, never taking the blame for a wipe. They have tricked themselves into believing that they are the core of the group, but unfortunately often control its failure.
