The Illusionary Rod is a great staff for casters. It's a good replacement for the Emberstone Staff or Staff of Westfall that Alliance casters might be carrying around since the Deadmines, or the popular Crescent Staff for the Horde. It is often replaced by Zum'rah's Vexing Cane from Zul'Farrak.
