Incapacitate or Knockout effects are a form of crowd control that render a player or NPC unable to move or act for a short time. Incapacitate differs from Stun in that Incapacitate effects always break on damage, while Stun effects never break on damage. Incapacitate effects include the Rogue's Ability gouge [Gouge] ability, the Paladin talent Spell holy prayerofhealing [Repentance], the Druid's Ability druid mangle [Maim] skill, the Engineering gizmo Inv helmet 49 [Goblin Rocket Helmet], and the quest reward Inv helmet 25 [Horned Viking Helmet].

Incapacitate can be broken by taking damage, or by using the Warrior ability Spell nature ancestralguardian [Berserker Rage] or the Hunter talent Ability druid ferociousbite [Bestial Wrath].

In Patch 1.9, the meanings of Incapacitate and Disorient were changed. In Patch 2.4, Sap was changed and is no longer considered an incapacitate effect. This page reflects the latest usage.
