Inks are ingredients for professions in World of Warcraft.
Engineering
Originally the only ink in the game was [Engineer's Ink]. It is still purchasable from vendors and is used on only two recipes, [Recipe: Goblin Rocket Fuel] (restricted to Goblin Engineering) and [Plans: Inlaid Mithril Cylinder] (restricted to Gnome Engineering). These recipes would allow alchemists or blacksmiths to create items also used only by the engineers for creating their special designs.
Inscription
Ink is one of the primary ingredients used for the Inscription profession, implemented in Patch 3.0.2. Inks require a pigment to create.
