Colors: Regular Dungeon , Raid Dungeon , Heroic Dungeon
- Numbers within the bars indicate the maximum number of players allowed in the instance.
- Numbers to the right of the instance name indicate the minimum level to enter, if known, and the recommended level range.
-
means there are reputation requirements with a faction to obtain entry.
Examples:
- "5" means that 5 players is recommended/the maximum.
- "5 (10)" means that 5 players are recommended, but 10 is the maximum.
-
means only Horde players have quests there, as 
means only Alliance have quests there.

Prior to Patch 2.4, those of levels 69 or below (67 or below for druids) could have not entered the Tempest Keep Instances. As of patch 2.4, however, the restrictions on Warlock Summoning has been lifted, and thus those previous players that were unable to enter, may now enter depending on the minimum level for these instances.

All raid dungeons will be accessible to both 10-man and 25-man size raid groups with separate gear progression paths in each respective raid model.
Faction specific instances?
Deadmines, Wailing Caverns, and Shadowfang Keep
The Deadmines: There are only alliance quests available for this instance.
Wailing Caverns: There are horde and neutral quests.
Shadowfang Keep: The only SFK Alliance quests are class specific for the Paladins and Warlocks only. Also it should be noted that as of BC there is a Horde Paladin quest that involves SFK.
Ragefire Chasm and Stormwind Stockade
Ragefire Chasm: This instance is located in Orgrimmar, and as such it is very difficult for Alliance characters to get to the entrance. However, if they get there, they can enter through the portal.
Stormwind Stockade: As above, except that this instance is located in Stormwind and so Horde characters will find it very difficult to get to. Again though, they can enter through the portal.
