Instant Poison
From WoWWiki
- "This may sting a bit..."
Instant Poison is the first damaging poison a rogue learns. Once applied to a weapon, each successful hit will have a 20% (up to 30% with the Improved Poisons talent) chance to inflict nature damage instantly. One application is good for 60 minutes (as of Patch 2.3.0).
Instant Poison and Crippling Poison are the first poisons a rogue may learn to make after finishing the required quest at level 20. Additional ranks may be learned from the rogue trainer at appropriate levels.
Instant Poison Ranks
| Rank | Level Required | Skill Required | Damage | Components |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| I | 20 | 1 | 19-25 | 1 Dust of Decay, 1 Empty Vial |
| II | 28 | 120 | 30-38 | 1 Dust of Decay, 1 Leaded Vial |
| III | 36 | 160 | 44-56 | 2 Dust of Deterioration, 1 Leaded Vial |

Notes
- Safe to use in any situation, as it will not break crowd control.
- Nature damage is not reduced by armor, so more effective against heavily armored opponents.
- Flat 20% proc rate means that fast weapons deal more poison damage.
- Shiv can be used to automatically apply the poison, effectively increasing flat damage of the attack.
- Prior to Patch 2.1.0, rogue poisons had charges.
