Untitled
FREAKING HILARIOUS.

  +
Sky'ree is the legendary gryphon mount of Kurdran Wildhammer, the equally-legendary hero of the Second War and afterward. With her master, Sky'ree gained a spectacular reputation among the Wildhammer clan, bearing him into battle against the red dragons enslaved by the Horde during the Second War. Kurdran had nine dragons on his death toll during the war.
I only want to know if this is fan fiction or smething that is actually in game.

  +
Kurdran and Sky'ree went beyond the Dark Portal as part of the Alliance Expedition, where Kurdran acted as a scout during the excursion into Draenor. Kurdran and Sky'ree survived the destruction of Draenor and are located at Wildhammer Stronghold in Shadowmoon Valley. While Kurdran tends to the business of running Wildhammer Stronghold, Sky'ree is tended to by her keeper, Eli Thunderstrike.
What?
It says in this page "In lore it is not uncommon for orcs to side with the Alliance instead of the Horde." When has this ever happened?

Sky'ree is eternally loyal to Kurdran and would willingly sacrifice her life for him.
The roleplaying game is full of many examples of hero parties made up of both factions, and independent races coming together, in short stories and accounts by Brann and others.Baggins 22:36, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

After Deathwing caused the Cataclysm, Sky'ree accompanied Kurdran to Ironforge when he joined the Council of Three Hammers, and she laid a clutch of three eggs shortly after arriving, in a nest at the city's gryphon roost. Kurdran would have prefered that she and the clutch return to Aerie Peak, but she had already made up her mind to stay with him. Sky'ree is noted to now be quite old, and although she had easily flown Kurdran to Ironforge, laying the clutch had severely weakened her. She became so frail that even a daily walk with Kurdran was a day-to-day uncertainty. Many priests, gryphon masters, and alchemists had examined her, and all had diagnosed Sky'ree's weakness was due to her aging body.

  +
With the roost overcrowded with Wildhammer gryphon nests, a group of ten Dark Irons tried to pass by with kegs of what presumably were Dark Iron Ale, but one slipped on some roost straw, causing a smashed kep to spill all over the roost. The Dark Irons also threw another keg into the roost, spilling even more. The first dark iron instigated a brawl, with Kurdran throwing the first punch. The brawl knocked over one of Ironforge's many braziers, catching onto some straw, which then ignited the spilled alcohol and in seconds set the entire roost ablaze.
:Actually some do side with the Alliance. Half-orcs usually though.Baggins 22:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Two other gryphons tried to work together to airlift the weakened Sky'ree by her wings, but she refused their assistance, wanting to protect her clutch from the fire. Another one that had been huddled near Sky'ree had to flee the flames. The smoke and heat of the inferno quickly killed her afterward; unfortunately underneath her charred and smoking corpse, the eggs were also destroyed.
Are there any actual examples?

Hours later however, Sky'ree's keeper, Eli Thunderstrike who had been tending to the Wildhammer gryphons at the roost, discovered a miracle. He found that the gryphon that had been huddled beside Sky'ree was holding an egg. None of the other gryphons had been tending to a clutch. Eli realized that it could only be one of Sky'ree's three eggs, which the male gryphon had clutched to his chest as he excaped the flames.

::The alliance and horde fought on the same side at the end of the last war. Some heroes are soldiers who met on the battlefield in that fateful time. Each still believes in his affiliation, but none can deny the bond that was formed between them in epic battle. Other heroes are are eager young adventurers who share a desire for wealth that overshadows any political affiliations. Other individuals who are staunch followers of their affiliations may find themselves forced to unite against a common threat. Undead still roam the land, and both humans and orcs hate the Burning Legion. Given the choice of killing an undead or a human, an orc will usually choose the undead, and a human would most likely do the same if the tables were turned. At least, the orc and the human may agree to destroy the undead before laying into one another. The common cause could be all that's needed to develop a new relationship. Heroes may develop from rivals into respected companions.

You're right, in the short stories, there was a tauren on the alliance, and a human on the horde. And with slaves, what about them? If a human is a slave to a let's say a troll, even i he didn't like the horde, would he still be considered "on/in the Horde"? Or would he have to be loyal to be considered "in/on the Horde"?

According to the RPG, the usual reasons one might be part of an another affiliation;

  +

IThe hero was born into the affiliation. Reared from infancy by members of the new affiliation to which he now belongs.

*The hero was saved from certain death or a terrible calamity by members of the new affiliation.

  +

*Befriended by members of the opposite side.

*The hero flees from her own side.

*The hero witnessed members of his affiliation doing something he found reprehensible or performing a horrible atrocity.

*The hero was/is magically controlled or magically altered.

*His values mesh more completely with the new affiliation.

*Disgusted with the leadership of his old affiliation.

*Is really a double agent, pretending to belong to the new affiliation, while still reporting to his old faction.

It doesn't appear slavery is one of the reasons. I'm guessing that a slave isn't considered a member. Technically someone who is magically controlled is kinda of enslaved, but the difference is probably that the person thinks they are choosing to join the new side of their own free will, unaware they are being manipulated.Baggins 00:31, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

What about Theresa in Undercity. She is a "slave", but is magically forced to be for the Horde. What should we put her under?
