The Kirin Tor Offensive is an Alliance faction introduced in Patch 5.2: The Thunder King. Their base of operation called Violet Rise in the Isle of Thunder, and their force is composed of the Silver Covenant combined with warriors and mages of the Kirin Tor. Their main goal is to prevent the Horde from obtaining the powerful artifacts held by Emperor Lei Shen and also to fight the coalition of Zandalari and mogu.

They mostly sell consumables that will help you in the Troves of the Thunder King scenario, such as [Frost Rune Trap], but they also sell mounts ([Reins of the Golden Primal Direhorn]) and epics (some of them for gold).

Background

After Jaina Proudmoore discovered that Sunreavers helped Garrosh Hellscream steal the [Divine Bell] by using Dalaran portals to infiltrate Darnassus, Jaina mobilized the Kirin Tor, Alliance forces, and the Silver Covenant to purge the Horde from Dalaran. After which, Jaina pledges the Kirin Tor to the Alliance.

During the purge, Jaina imprisoned  Archmage Aethas Sunreaver, but later Horde players rescued him from Dalaran and took him back to Silvermoon. Aware that it was the consequence of Garrosh's irresponsibility,  Lor'themar Theron created the Sunreaver Onslaught and launched an offensive against Lei Shen to claim his power and use it against Garrosh Hellscream when the time comes...

The Kirin Tor discovered Lord'themar Theron's plan and created the Kirin Tor Offensive to prevent them obtaining Lei Shen's power.
