- It may have once belonged to Latronicus Moonspear, as he is referred to as Latro by his wife Vestia Moonspear upon turning in the quest Delivering the Relic. Latronicus is also referred to as Latro by Ginro Hearthkindle immediately preceding the completion of the The Missing Courier quest.
- Another theory is that the item's name refers to the Night Elf Rogue 'Latro Abiectus' from the WoW TCG.
This is the best off-hand sword for a Rogue to have, outside of PVP and Raiding, due to its speed and beneficial stats.
