Lead Cannoneer Zierhut is one of the leaders of the Scarlet Onslaught forces in New Hearthglen. In [71] The Denouncement, the player character focuses the [Rod of Compulsion] on him to make him denounce the Onslaught and then kills him.

[Zierhut's Lost Treads] drop in Karazhan, which begs the question: How did his boots end up there? There are several possibilities:

The Scarlet Crusade could have tried to invade Karazhan. As is seen by Karazhan's still haunted halls and rooms, if they did invade it, they failed.
His whole family was invited to Karazhan before the tower became haunted, and he was the only one to escape while Medivh was undergoing his last stages of insanity.
He was part of Anduin Lothar's assault team against Medivh and somehow lost his treads.
It was a different person named Zierhut who lost them.
