Level | 60 |
Affiliation(s) | Argent Dawn |
Location | Eastern Plaguelands |
Leonid Barthalomew the Revered is a level 60 quest giver located at Light's Hope Chapel in the contested territory of Eastern Plaguelands. He is affiliated with the Argent Dawn.
Leonid was a noble hero until he was killed and later resurrected by the Lich King as a mindless undead. He was present at Stratholme when Ras Frostwhisper gained his immortality. He was eventually freed by the Banshee Queen, and became one of the Forsaken. Mistrusting many if not most of the members of the Forsaken, who he saw as dangerous, he left the Forsaken and is now loyal to the cause of the Argent Dawn. He was a friend of the Forsaken priest Trevor who aspires to follow after Leonid.Template:Cite
He looks at his undeath as a malady. An illness that merely requires treatment, hence his loyalties. It is also a great advantage for the Argent Dawn. What better vessel to smite the abominations of the Scourge than one of the "redeemed" undead?
He is revered by his colleagues because of the sacrifices he has made, but the accolades mean nothing to him.
There is a NPC named Victor Bartholomew in the Undercity. It is unknown if the two are related.
Leonid starts the following quests:
- [60] Houses of the Holy (Dungeon)
- [60] Menethil's Gift (Dungeon)
- [60] Soulbound Keepsake
- [60] Betina Bigglezink

Wrath of the Lich King
Barthalomew appears leading the Argent Dawn at the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel before the arrival of Tirion Fordring during [55] The Light of Dawn
Leonid might have been named for King Leonidas I of Sparta who lead 300 Spartans against a Persian force of tens of thousands. Leonid leads about 300 defenders against 10,000 Scourge during the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel. However, Leonid existed in-game long before the release of Wrath of the Lich King's release of the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel. Instead this might mean that the designers of Wrath decided to play on the similarity in names to add in the Spartan reference after the fact.
