Lichborne is a death knight talent available at level 57. It allows the knight to draw upon unholy energy to become undead for 10 seconds. While undead, they are immune to charm, fear, and sleep effects.

This ability allows a death knight to self-heal using Death Coil. It also makes the death knight susceptible to abilities able to target Undead mobs, such as Shackle, and on the other hand, it makes abilities which can only be cast on humanoids, like Sap, unable to be cast on the death knight. Removing Lichborne does not remove CCs.

Patch changes

• Patch 5.0.4 (28 August 2012): Updated. 
  
• Patch 3.2.0 (04-Aug-2009): The buff from this ability can now be cancelled. Duration reduced to 10 seconds, and cooldown reduced to 2 minutes. 
  
• Patch 3.1.0 (14-Apr-2009): No longer improves your chance to be missed. Now correctly grants immunity, and will break all effects to which Lichborne makes you immune.
