Lightning Overload is a passive talent that gives your [Lightning Bolt] and [Chain Lightning] spells {11/22/33}% chance to cast a second, similar spell on the same target with no cost. This second spell is instant, causes half damage and no threat.

Notes

• Spells cast due to this talent behave completely equal to their base spells.
• The net effect of this talent (maxed) is a 16.5% average damage increase for the lightning spells. (.5 damage * .33 chance = .165)
• LO procs seem to be able to proc LO as well , while the damage the resulting spell does is still calculated as half of the original one.

Patch changes

• Template:Patched
• Patch 2.3.0 (2007-11-13): (Elemental) now has a 4/8/12/16/20% chance to occur and the additional spell causes half damage and no additional threat.

  Prior to that the chance was {1/2/3/4/5}%, but spell's damage was not halved.
