Maelstrom Weapon is a talent in the Enhancement tree, you will need to spend 50 points in Enhancement to max it. Each rank improves the chance of the proc to trigger, and the proc stack up to five, making the ability instant cast.

Notes

The chance to gain a charge when attacking is dependent on weapon speed, using the PPM mechanic. This means that you gain charges from auto-attacks at the same rate regardless of weapon speed. In effect, this means that slower weapons will have a slightly higher chance to trigger Maelstrom Weapon due to instant attacks. Dual wielding will greatly increase the rate at which charges are generated, due to the increased number of attacks, though due to the miss penalty inherent to dual wielding it will not generate charges twice as fast as when using only one weapon.

Maelstrom Weapon charges stack up to five, at which point the next Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Lesser Healing Wave, Healing Wave, or Chain Heal spell becomes instant cast. Because of this, the talent can be seen as the Nature's Swiftness of the Enhancement tree, allowing for free emergency heals or burst damage.
