Mage Hunter Ascendant can be found in The Nexus. There are three different versions of this mob: One that casts Fire spells, one that casts Frost spells and one that casts Arcane spells.

Abilities

  •   Aura of Arcane Haste - Increases the casting speed of caster by 15% (50% on Heroic) and spell damage by 150 (500 on Heroic) for 1 min.

Fire Version

  •   Fireball - Inflicts 128 to 172 (255 to 345 on Heroic) Fire damage to an enemy.
  •   Immolation Trap - Place a fire trap that will burn the first enemy to approach for 985 Fire damage over 15 sec. Trap will exist for 1 min. Only one trap can be active at a time.
  •   Rain of Fire - Calls down a molten rain, burning all enemies in a selected area for 168 (252 on Heroic) Fire damage every 3 sec. for 9 sec.

Frost Version

  •   Frostbolt - Inflicts 96 to 128 (191 to 257 on Heroic) Frost damage to nearby enemies, reducing their movement speed by 50% for 4 sec.
  •   Cone of Cold - Inflicts 132 to 168 (263 to 337 on Heroic) Frost damage to enemies in a cone in front of the caster, reducing their movement speed by 50% for 8 sec.
  •   Freezing Trap - Place a frost trap that freezes the first enemy that approaches, preventing all action for up to 20 sec. Any damage caused will break the ice. Trap will exist for 1 min. Only one trap can be active at a time.

Arcane Version

  •   Arcane Explosion - Sends out a blast wave of magic, inflicting 220 to 240 (3600 to 4400 on Heroic) Arcane damage to nearby enemies.
  •   Arcane Trap - Place an arcane trap that sends out a blast wave of magic, inflicting 2313 to 2687 Arcane damage to nearby enemies. Trap will exist for 1 min.
  •   Polymorph - Transforms an enemy into a sheep, forcing it to wander around for up to 8 sec. While wandering, the sheep cannot attack or cast spells. Any damage will transform the target back into its normal form. Only one target can be polymorphed at a time. Only works on beasts, dragons, giants, humanoids, and critters.
