Maggots are emplyed as the young stage of various insectoid creatures, notably the Silithids and Nerubians.
Maggots inhabit only a few places in the world of Azeroth, often among more adult stages of Silithid such as in the Barrens, or in huge variants in the Eastern Plaguelands. They usually come in a variety of colors, including white, yellow, brown, green, pink and purple, and may or may not be aggressive.
Maggots vary quite much in size, from the cat-sized larvae of the Silithid to the enormous carrion grubs of the Plaguelands, the largest of which can be the size of elephants.
